These airplanes were a huge hit! The kids loved the stickers to decorate the wings and tail. The launcher was so much fun for everyone to play with. The bullets that it shoots are smaller than a normal Nerf bullet. And ours did fall apart, the tip came off very quickly. Planes our lightweight, and fly well, but not exceptionally. Updated 8-2024 My grandson pointed out that although these planes did not have a switch for the led lights they could be activated occasionally by launching them with the gun launcher or otherwise by an impact like knocking it against his hand. Not predictable, nor did they stay on very long but there did seem to be an operational mode there somewhere. ************ We had some airplane kits last spring which had the canopy LED lights and which the children found very entertaining, at least until the battery pack came apart inside after several crashes. These are advertised as having "colorful LED Lights, kids can enjoy the fun of flying toys even at night" and they do have most of the hardware, however these do not work. The LED lights are housed in the canopy but on these kits they are all missing the switches to activate them. Batteries are in place ( also serving as ballast) but no switches and no lights. On one kit I can see that the battery pack is already is located inside the canopy so it will never be balanced as the others for even flying, regardless of other lighting or non-lighting issues. These airplanes are smaller than most of the power launched kits I have previously had, measuring in at about 13 inch wingspan and they fly with a lot less reliability than larger kits, especially the hand launched versions. That is partly to do with the loss of aerodynamics since these have the wheels hanging out. Regardless, they don't fly particularly well. The launch gun takes enough force to set that it will probably be a 5 year old to do that, of course adults can and should help with these anyhow. I put one kit together for this review so my grandchildren will still have the joy of assembling the other three. These are a large particle foam molding and pretty tough, with a significant amount of flex use before they will break. On others models made from similar foam they eventually all got broken but could be quite easily repaired using a 5 minute epoxy adhesive. That adhesive sets fast and allows wings or other parts position retention without breaking up the airfoil surfaces as tape would. These are very tight inserting the wings into the slots. I did find that applying a bit of foaming hand soap to the slot and wing surfaces helped with getting the wing safely into place as it serves as a lubricant and dries without any issues. Just be gentle, patient and careful and you can get them assembling.

My grandson has great fun with these low-tech glide planes and launcher. They were easy to assemble, he had fun with the stickers to decorate them, and has spent a lot of time outdoors launching them and then running after to retrieve them. The LED lights are hit or miss, but he doesn’t care, he just enjoys launching them and then running after to retrieve them.

These are what you'd typically expect. I will say they are a good size for a foam glider. Studier than the Dollar Store variety, glide beautifully and the colors are vibrant. The shooter took us a bit to get used to but they work well. Ages using them were 11, 9, 8 & 5. All enjoyed immensely!

No matter how much my kids try they haven't hit a plane with one of the darts yet, but I doubt anyone could. It keeps them occupied though while they try. The planes fly great and with a little tweaking go very far. The bright colors and LEDs in the cockpit make them easy to find when they end up in a tree too. The foam is very durable, not like the styrofoam ones from when i was a kid that broke within 10 minutes of assembly.

Got this for my grandkids to play with and while it does pretty much what it says it does they lost interest in it quickly. Pros: 1. the plans are pretty sturdy for what they are 2. there are several ways you can adjust the flight of the plane by switching the tails around and bending the tail up or down 3. it is easy to use cock, load and fire cons: 1. the 25' flight range is not really that far 2. the bullet shooting does not shoot far and can only be directed at the plane if the plane is tossed and not launched other wise they both shoot at the same time 4. would have been nice if the planes were better balanced so they would glide further conclusion: while this toy is ok and younger kids may find it fun to play with

This makes for a good birthday present for a child to have some fun with for a while. The launcher is interesting and the Nerf type projectiles add the ability to have two things in one. A Nerf gun and a plane launcher in one. Kids can set up different types of games with it if they want and try knocking things down so to speak.
