Size: DRO Hall sensorx1um magnetic scale
This is my second unit, the first one on my lathe. I wanted some custom features, and Kate (customer service) was fantastic, promptly answering questions and requests for the DRO. She is the gold-standard for customer service, IMO, and I have no qualms buying and recommending units from the company she works for. This unit has x, y, z, u, and rpm., and is installed on my Bridgeport-style mill (Sharp). These magnetic bar units are easier to install, due to less tolerancing error on installation. I also like the Z and U (U is the quill travel), in addition to the more common x, y axis. The readouts are very accurate, as measured with my gauge blocks and a .00005" accurate mitutoyo digital dial bore indicator, and dial-test-indicator. I worked in a tool & die shop using both standard machinery, and using/programming a variety of CNC machines, so I've had access to the best equipment money can buy. Ditron units rival the Accurite and Newall units, IMO. So far they've worked flawlessly. ... show more

Installed on Excello mill. First three axes and RPM are installed. Quill will require some more thought. Everything went smoothly and worked right away. Material arrived quickly, even thought the scales came from China. The mounting brackets provided were useful, but every installation will require some customization. Hardware is all metric. The manual and online help has some strange English in it, but it isn’t terrible. Why don’t Chinese companies get native English speakers to proof their documents? So far, so good. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Amazing, especially for the price. There is nothing I was left wanting with this set up. It is one of those purchases you pat yourself on the back for every time you use it.
