I got these because I like having a kitted out hardware selection on hand in a 'Maker's Workshop'....and you'd be surprised how often a cable run with these types of wheels comes in handy to rig up a solution without yet another trip to the big box amusement park hardware store. The Hokimder 4.8 Inch 304 Stainless Steel Wheel Pulley is strong and tests as 304 stainless. I am using with a rope to raise and lower a bucket in my barn. The actual size of the wheel is about 1-7/8-inch diameter and the base is about 2-5/8-inch long. Five stars because it is well designed and manufactured of quality materials.     • Strong s/s rustproof pulley works fine but has a little wobble/play.
Strong 304 stainless steel pulley is built well and performs as it should. There is a little wobble/play in the bearings but it shouldn't be an issue for my application where it won't be getting used all that often. It's better than the steel pulleys (which will rust) available at the home improvement stores and should withstand the outdoor environment I am using it in without rusting. Feels fairly well made without any play in the pulley or parts. I plan to use this to help lift storage boxes and such up to higher garage storage shelves. A quick test found no undo play in the wheel and it seems like it will do the job just fine.

Well built, should hold up well. I'm going yo use it as a direction changing point for a pulley I'm setting up. Should do well for that. The included hardware looks like it'll hold. Will update if it gives me any issues.

    • Good quality and strong
This is a good-quality grooved wheel pulley. The components are strong and the pulley/wheel rolls very nicely underweight. I used this pully to assist with pulling a cable through a conduit. I needed a higher leverage point to pass my pull tape through. This pulley did the trick. I was able to mount it above the conduit and easily pull the rope through. I had quite a bit of weight pulling on this pulley and it did not flex/move/twist/creek, it just kept rolling as I pulled the rope through. The media could not be loaded. This stainless steel pulley is a convenient size with a sturdy stainless steel base. I was disappointed with the bearings, as they exhibited a considerable amount of slop, way more than I consider acceptable for a quality bearing. The pulley is nicely machined and the frame is a sturdy gauge of stainless. It appears no pickling or passivation was performed after laser cutting and forming, which may lead to rust in the future. The pulley is stamped as being fabricated from type 304 stainless steel, which makes this unacceptable for salt water marine use, where type 316 would be preferred, but appropriate for most non-marine environments. I ordered this for a low speed, low stress application, guiding a rope on a hoist I rigged up to in my workshop. As such, the sloppy bearings are not an issue. So far, they do not appear to affect the performance of the pulley for my application. I would not feel comfortable using this pulley in a high-speed or critical application without first replacing the bearings. For that reason, I deducted one star from my rating. The pulley came with a set of fasteners, including four long Phillips head screws with plastic anchors and a set of four expansion anchors for brick or concrete. Summary: This pulley is more than adequate for my relatively low stress, slow speed application. I would prefer better bearings for more demanding applications. That said, this is far better than anything I found at any of the big-box home improvement stores. ... show more
