    • Strong pin - I gave it a beating and it held up.
My old endpin broke and the hole was not reamed properly. I took a screw driver, wrapped fine sandpaper around it, and reamed a tiny bit at a time until the taper was as close as I could get it to match this new pin. It was so painstaking and a mistake would have been such a disaster, that I spread this out over 2 days. It paid off as an endpin reamer is $60, or a Luthier would charge $100.00. My total cost was just an end pin from Amazon. This endpin is now wedged into my violin and has held up for weeks of daily playing. ... show more

    • Good for the price, but not ready right away
I bought this pin thinking that this would readily fit the hole for end pin in my violin. It wasn't the case; not sure if violin end pins come in standard sizes and this one is bigger than usual, or that my violin's end pin hole is smaller. I scraped/shaped the pin using a pen knife and then sanded down for a snug fit in the end pin hole of the body of the violin. There's still a bit of gap in the hole, perhaps because my violin's hole isn't completely round. It sounds great/fulll however. If you buy this pin, be prepared to have to shape the end pin carefully to make it fit to your violin. But at this price, perhaps that's to be expected. ... show more

This is marked to fit 3/4, 4/4. It was too big. I couldn't find one at any local music stores and they wanted to order one for me. I got this one here on Amazon. Sis and I took it to garage, put it in vice, and sanded it til it fit. Works great.. now.
