3M SM600L sound thermal insulation engineered for vehicles. 60" wide, scrim on one side. 1 linear foot is 5 square feet. Material comes compressed from 3M. The material will expand to 1 3/4 or 44mm. Thinsulate is FMVSS 302 certified (federal motor vehicle safety standard). Delivers more acoustic absorption per unit weight vs. competitive products Helps customers meet mass reduction goals Non-woven sound absorbing fibers create a quieter vehicle environment Hydrophobic fibers. Recommend using 3M 90 Adhesive Spray to apply the white fiber side to the Van skin. Approximate amounts needed to insulate the walls, ceiling, doors and cab area of vans: Sprinter 144 WB = 50 linear feet, Ford Transit 148 WB = 50 linear feet, Promaster 159 WB = 50 linear feet, 170 WB Sprinter = 60 linear feet, 170 WB Extended Sprinter = 70 linear feet. This item comes in bulk from 3M and we repackage it into the different lengths. It is possible that it can be damaged in shipping but we will be happy to work with you if that happens.

I’ve used this to insulate my van. It seems expensive for what you get but it works pretty well. Attached it with Loctite spray adhesive and that stuff really works. It does expand to about an inch thick and insulates fairly well.

Made a noticeable difference when applied to the panels of a cargo van, kept the inside cooler even when the sun was shining, and even on days with 40C temperatures, it slowed the rate of rise once the engine and air conditioning were turned off.

Very easy to handle and apply without full protection and very well constructed. A must for insulating a van and it also looks good with the black material backing. A superior product for what you get. the small cost savings versus other products is not worth the savings. An extended van can be insulated fully in less than 6 hours. ... show more

Put this in the roof of my van. It's okay, but not great. Reduces heat some, but not very much. Also, they don't include any adhesive or way to install it, so you have to install it with spray adhesive. It holds okay, but due to the loose structure of the insulation, it comes down and falls out pretty easily. Would be better if there was a barrier layer on both sides that enclosed the insulation. Also, the insulation needs to be thicker to have a better R value so the heat reduction is better. ... show more
