  • Listing describes glossy vinyl & glossy is what we wanted. What we received is matte!
Size: 4ft x 1ft (4 sq/ft)
3M makes great products, My opinion based off of purchasing a variety of items made by them over the years. With that being said, here's the only reason for the 3 stars. So we bought this vinyl expecting to get what is listed for sale. The listing describes a glossy carbon fiber vinyl & glossy is what we wanted. What we received is matte carbon fiber. Sure we could send it back and wait for the exchanged vinyl to be delivered. My point in this review isn't to fuss about the product as much as it is to make others aware that what's listed may not be exactly what you get. I'm well aware humans make mistakes, So if & when we decide to place an order again... for the glossy vinyl we needed. Fingers Crossed that's what we will get. Why my husband is hell bent on ordering from this seller only, I dont know. Just a heads up. For the record- This truly isn't a big deal but would have loved to get it right on the first go round. We have ideas for the matte vinyl so it'll be used up in no time. ... show more

  • Too bad, because it would have looked awesome
Size: 4ft x 5ft (20 Sq/ft)
I can't comment on the quality of other CF wraps, because I went with the Di-Noc from the start. I planned to wrap the hood of my snowmobile, but it was just too complex and large to pull it off without some major wrinkles. Too bad, because it would have looked awesome. Instead, I wrapped my side vents and bumper. It looks very good. Even though the product description says gloss black, the finish is slightly matte. You will need a heat gun and 3M primer to hold the film in recesses and openings. Don't go crazy with the heat. As soon as the vinyl seems to soften in the heat, start working it down, and don't use heat unless it's really necessary. There are several YouTube videos on how to apply the film. Be patient and take your time. If you lack patience, or have a complicated part, have someone do it for you, or you will get frustrated. Here's a picture of one of the vents. It took about an hour to do. ... show more

  • Buyer Beware
Size: 2ft x 1ft (2 sq/ft)
There is a very subtle difference between Black DI-NOC and GLOSS Black DI-NOC. In certain light, appear so similar that you really have to see both products side by side to discern the difference. But there is a difference. This is because both versions of DI-NOC have some degree of gloss. Black DI-NOC has a slight gloss sheen. Gloss Black DI-NOC has a smoother texture, feels richer and as one would expect, a noticably glossier sheen. These are both wonderful products. I happen to prefer the gloss version. The problem is, I have had terrible luck obtaining Gloss DI-NOC from Amazon. Invariably, they send regular DI-NOC instead. I know this because I have used the product many times and keep samples of both versions on hand. I've reported this problem several times but nothing changes. I recently ordered a small section of Gloss DI-NOC , in hopes I might receive the correct product,. Once again, I did not. So as far as DI-NOC goes, I give it 5 stars. Either version . Amazon, however, gets 0 stars. ... show more

  • Love this 3M Wrap
Size: 4ft x 2ft (8 Sq/ft)
I had never wrapped anything before, well except presents. This was easy to work with. I wrapped my boat dashboard with the carbon fiber vinyl. You can either use a heat gun or hairdryer to get around the edges. I recommend purchasing the 3M primer. It helps secure the edges, especially if you are wrapping something with a lot of curves. I watched a YouTube video and was very happy with the outcome of my project. Just be patient and you can get great results. Totally changes the look. ... show more

  • 3m di-noc carbon fiber gloss black
Size: 4ft x 5ft (20 Sq/ft)
Ordered the 48"x60" twill weave carbon fiber sheet to do a headliner and the interior A-pillars. You need a smooth NON POROUS surface for this stuff, i had to seal my headliner board before application. The stuff is sticky, but gets even better with some heat. Speaking of heat, if your surface has compound curvers....you're gonna need it. I'm not talking about using a hairdryer, which might work but its not temp controlled. Get a set able heat gun!! I was usually in the 250-420° heat ranges. The stuff is pliable with patience and heat, just remember to go back over the whole item with some more heat while pressing down on the material to get a good bond. This is not my first, or probably my last time using this carbon fiber material. Experience helps a great deal, as with any material thats gonna need heat to form it. Great results can be had! Or let a professional do your install if you're new to this kind of work. My pics are real and so am I !!! Iam very pleased with this product, and everyone i show it to thinks it looks awesome! ... show more

  • Great looks. Easy to work with.
Size: 4ft x 5ft (20 Sq/ft)
Product is really great quality and looks very well. Easy to work with. Doesn’t loose pattern too easy when stretching. Happy with a purchase. It’s just the way it’s cut I had to order way more than I needed since to make a mirror looks on the sides it has to be rotated by 90 degree. Requires a big square for even 2 not too wide stripes. I wish I had the option to choose direction on 4x1 foot size. Packaging itself could use one of these tubes instead of rectangle carton so that it’s secured. Was a little scratched on the outside. Came out a day late. Due to Amazon based on my conversation with the seller. So keep that in mind. Also packaging on large sheet can make it too big for some lockers etc. ... show more

  • Great product.
Size: 4ft x 1ft (4 sq/ft)
This is a great product. It's thicker than the 3M 1080 vinyl. This is my first time ever wrapping something in vinyl, I was really surprised at how it forms to interior trim. I used a heat gun to form the material around edges and found that when it cools, it hardens in place. I used denatured alcohol for cleaning and a PVC primer on the edges, it has most of the same ingredients as the 3M primer but also has acetone so if you ever plan on removing the vinyl make sure you don't get it on the good surface, just the the back side. I recommend using the 3M primer because it's formulated for their specific adhesive. I also warmed the vinyl up after unrolling it, this makes it easier to handle. Prep is a must with any vinyl. Make sure your parts a super clean and the area you're working in is grease and oil free. ... show more
