This worked perfectly for me, removed fine scratches from the driver's window on a 21 year old truck. The window was hard to see through because it was so scratched up. I tried to get a replacement window, that's a long story, but I failed. So I ordered this polish despite the reviews. Here's the thing. I used to work in a lens shop. I know how long it takes to polish lenses, and what can be polished vs what needs to be ground. So you won't have much luck removing deep scratches with this polish, this is for finishing/polishing. If you can feel the scratches with a fingernail, you probably won't remove them with this, unless you spend hours and hours on one scratch. But for fine scratches from dust as a window is rolled up and down over many years, it works great. A buffer won't do it either. I used a bosch orbital sander with a spongy backing pad and 2000 grit sandpaper, applied the polish compound to the sandpaper, and then repeatedly polished one area of glass multiple times, about 5 minutes per application. I also used a dowel rod to stir/mash up the polish, then shook it well before each application. After about 5 such applications, all that was left was a deep scratch, but the rest of the area was smooth as glass, and I could see through it again. My wife was very impressed!

A little goes a long way

I ordered this product based on the 3M brand. I’ve always had success with their other products so I figured I would give this one try. It was a little pricey for my taste, but I have high-end vehicles and I want them to look their best so I figured why not spend a little bit of money. The product is easy to apply using a low speed buffer apply several drops to the pad and then to your glass on your vehicle, take a spray bottle and mist the product as you’re using it so that it will take affect and start to activate the ingredients to provide a protective barrier on your glass for maximum protection. Do not apply direct son or an extreme heat and do not allow the product to get on any of the trim of your vehicle as it will turn it white, I have been very satisfied with the product as I do not find myself having to clean my glass or apply rain next as I do live in Florida and during rain season tends to get pretty harsh in this product allows the water to be for better visibility to remove any excess product once you’ve applied just take a microfiber cloth and wipe you don’t have to reapply very often and this product can also be used on other glass surfaces. Please read the label and watch any tutorial videos for the proper application. It is pretty simple and just requires a little elbow grease

The 3M polish does work with a lot of time and effort.

Yes, this stuff reduces scratches from contaminated wiper blade (grit) scratches. But, it is an enormous amount of time/effort even when using an orbital polisher. It takes HOURS of polishing to effectively work, it really super CLEANS the glass, like crazy clear and clean. But the deeper wiper scratches were only reduced and the 3M Polish could not remove all of them. I accept this, because I cannot/ do not want to spend money on a used car windshield.

Use a foam pad, on low - this works fantastic

I had tried 3 different techniques to clear this haze out, but none of them worked. I did the basics (glass cleaner, microfiber), I did the next tier (cleaner, iso, cleaner) and finally hit it with a big-name glass polish -- didn't work. So before I got new glass, I tried this stuff. Even doing it by hand, it made a difference. The images speak for themselves. For reference, I used an Adams 3" polisher, an Adams 3" compound pad (used prior) and set the machine on ~1.25-1.5. You don't need a lot, just go slow and very light pressure. It worked so so good and will be my go-to from now on. 1 word of warning. When you close the cap, mine tried to shoot me in the face. Be careful with that!

Works Great!

This stuff is amazing! Helped me remove scratches in a windshield from wiper blades that were left on too long and put deep scratches in the glass. I used a DA and a felt pad with lots of water sprayed on the windshield too, but got rid of 95% of the scratches.

Just not effective enough. Buy the straight powder instead. I went through almost 1/4th of this bottle trying to polish off the ruined antiglare coating and some microscratches off the front of an old CRT monitor. It was working but it was a slow process. Eventually about halfway through I decided to buy some pure cerium oxide powder and I felt like one polishing session with the powder was equal to four sessions with this polish. That being said, this stuff does work, but its very slow and I cant recommend it over the straight powder.

Take your time, it works.
Size: 16 fl oz
Shower stall clear glass with 10 years of water spots. Used felt pads, 5", hook and loop style. The cerium oxide is a ultra fine abrasive, with particle sizes finer than other polishes. This product does not state how fine, but the white cerium is typically much finer than the pink/red stuff. It cuts by using particles embedded in the felt pad, so after applying it to the felt, smear it around to be sure it penetrates the felt uniformly before starting the polisher. Even though it is worked wet, the liquefied stuff on the surface is not doing the cutting, only acting as lube. Faster results are to be had when it is well thinned on the work, but don't let it go dry. I started off trying my Dewalt random orbital, but that was slow and the variable speed was faster than ideal. I switched to a corded rotary polisher that could maintain a steady 2500 to 3000 rpm even when pushed firmly. Pressure is required to keep the particles in the felt in contact with the glass. The rotary was far superior to the RO for this work. This was eventually effective, but too time consuming as an only step, so I tried diamond polishing pads, wet. The 3000 grit worked somewhat faster and left only light swirls, and the 1500 was very fast with medium swirls. Both are worked wet with frequent spritzing with distilled water, same rpm range as the Cerium oxide but less pressure. I could see the grayish water spot residue coming off the polisher disc as I sprayed water on the surface. 1500 diamond wet, 3000 diamond wet to address the bigger swirl marks, then Finnish with the 3D cerium oxide. Glass now looks like it just came out of the factory. Plan on multiple hours, and get a good light source to see what you are doing.
