We bought our first poker of this sort about 10 years ago and consider it a camping necessity. When we found this one for sale, we decided to get it for our son as a stocking stuffer. This one is a bit more flimsy than the one we already had, but given my son only goes camping a couple of times each year, it should more than hold up for managing basic campfires. Great price, too.

We had our first fire in the fireplace the other night and after we got the smoke alarm to quiet down (because me wife THOUGHT the damper was open) I had a chance to use this device. I actually already have a fireplace poker but that is not the brilliant thing about this tool. When you put your mouth on the end of the handle you can direct a stream of air right to the interior of the fire. Wow! It works so great. I think I need to get another one to put in our travel trailer.

My double burner stove is in need of repair so I’ve been camping with just a single burner stove and using the fire. On my last camping trip I had an older, poorly designed fire ring. It didn’t get enough airflow directly under the cooking grate, as you can see in the photo above. I got down almost to the ground and was covered in smoke. Just to cook some of breakfast. I ordered this because it keeps my face out of the fire and my knees off the ground as I nurture the fire. I was afraid the throughput would be too little, but I am impressed with the throughput of air. The fact that it comes apart for conveniently transporting it to my campsite and home again is a bonus, as is not having to use a random stick at the campsite to manipulate the wood in the fire.

I got this fire poker/blower for our RV and I will say the fire poker is great, but the blower hole is just barely useable. the length of the poker make the blower not as functional as other ones on the market that is just a fire bellow.

I love how this breaks down and has its own carrying case so you can bring it camping. It's awesome not to have to put your face down into the fire to get air flowing on it. This poker is sturdy and works as it should whether it's moving the logs around or getting some air to the base of the flame. Merchant delivered what was advertised and I'm very happy that I ordered and highly recommend this product for anyone who does campfires or fire pits or even a house fireplace with natural wood.

I never knew anything like this existed but it works and it works well! I am a minimalist with gadgets and tools, but this is definitely a nice addition to the camping box. It feels great in the hand with it's wooden handle and looks beautiful with the wood and leather together. Starting the fire has been much simpler with this! The blowhole is genius! Get one!
