These new type LED road flares are very effective. They have many different strobe patterns so different patterns can be used in each unit in emergencies to attract and focus attention. Yellow and red with a flashlight mode. Strong magnet allows marking a car in several places and will probably adhere while towing. LED effectiveness should give a battery life of more than 8 hours- sufficient for an overnight or long use. They would be essential if stranded by snow to mark an occupied car for rescue. They have a rubber-like seal which would keep them working in rain or snow and aboard a boat in heavy weather- underwater doubtful but possible maybe shallow. Being a six pack enables multiple use at longer distances from a problem site and makes them cheap enough to leave behind if required (cheaper than a burning flare.) Takes 3 aaa batteries each. PREPAREDNESS: These are essential pieces of emergency equipment for those who are prepared. Just put in your calender a reminder to replace batteries yearly. It's not the battery life but the possibility of corrosion for alkaline batteries left in any unit for a long period. Carrying spare batteries is a good idea- the unit comes with a small screwdriver remove screws. But I wouldn't let them be empty of battery because installing batteries takes time that might not be available in an emergency.

The media could not be loaded. Attached video is using two in my garage. Many Programs. Tested and re-tested all six purchased. All Worked Perfect. Just do not store the batteries in the unit as they will leak and damage it. I put my batteries in a Ziploc bag and stored them with the unit in the included case along with the included stubby screwdriver. Very Bright, attention grabbing to warn other drivers to proceed with caution. Could also use for camping, home emergencies to attract police or fire, etc. In daylight it does look like a toy, but at night it comes alive with the bright attention warning lights. Strong magnet on the back is very nice to attach it to the car. Especially if you have to drive slow with a donut tire, (because of a flat primary) you can place them on the top of the trunk to warn others as reasoning for the slow speed until you get to a safe location. This, of course works in conjunction with your auto emergency flashers.

The media could not be loaded. As a retired truck driver, I know all about the dangers of the big road ( highway ). People are so distracted these days, they don't even see the lights of a cop car ( can't get much brighter lights than that ). These lights, though no where near as bright as a police vehicle, have a good chance of saving your life, and vehicle, if you have broken down on the interstate or other highway. My suggestion : take 3 of these lights, put them on the continuous setting ( round and round flashing light ), and place them at intervals of 3 feet to 5 feet, a total of 15 feet behind your vehicle. Wear your safety vest while doing that carefully. Also place 1 or 2 of these lights at your vehicle, and hope for the best. Don't forget to carefully go back and pick up your lights.

Total assembly time (adding AAA batteries) is about 10 minutes for the 6 pack version. Batteries are not supplied. Don't be alarmed by the water seal on the battery cover that makes it seem like you might be breaking the unit to get the cover off. These are great for replacing old school flairs or bulky reflectors and are visible for a long distance. I found a couple of the light patters to be more useful than others to maximize visibility from a distance. For ~$30 these are about the same price as road flairs or reflective warning triangles. They will fit in the glove box so great for car or smaller class B RV.
