Tool box As a professional woodworker I have and use my share of toolboxes and this one is top notch. I’m a bit baffled by the highly negative reviews but I’ll give you my experience with it. It came well packaged in a large box. Inside the shipping box was another box, inside of which was thick closed cell foam completely surrounding the tool box. I can’t conceive the abuse that would be necessary to damage it. After pulling it out it was immediately evident how nice it was. This is not a portable toolbox. I mean it is portable, but this is meant to sit on a bench or cart and have tools stored in it. Tool free it must be close to 20 lbs, so not something you want to drag around fully loaded. When I first tried to open the drawers, they did not open, leading me to realize that the top compartment must be unlocked first. True enough, after opening the top, the three drawers were unlocked and slide easily. They are comparable quality with a craftsman style tool storage box, and much nicer than one I own from a big box hardware store. In fact, this earned a place sitting right on top of the large rolling tool box in my garage. The drawer slides are good quality and easily hold whatever weight you will put inside. Each drawer is lined with a non slip tool mat. It’s not glued on, but it works well enough. While the drawers may not be deep enough to hold large wrenches laid out perpendicular to the drawer, they can (and now do) hold an assortment of other tools in two of the drawers, and the third has wrenches, just laid out sideways instead of up and down. The drawers remain free to open and shut as long as the top stays open, and when you close the lid, providing all the drawers are fully seated at the time, all of them lock closed. This is not meant to deter thievery, as there is no individual key lock, but rather to prevent them from opening were this tossed in the bed of a truck. In fact the only negative, if you can call it that, was that the bottom was not completely flat and had a bit of a rock to it when I set it down on its new home. But problem solved, I tossed a washer under one corner and no more rocking. The top is maybe four inches deep and just the right side for holding a few things too tall for the drawers. While the metal is not quite as stout as something similar but many times its price, dents go with the territory, and I didn’t buy this to beat around. It is perfect for what I needed, which was more tool organization in my shop. And being “portable” should I need to grab it and go it’s no problem to move; just to carry once loaded down with heavy tools. If you are looking for a portable and highly organizable “shop a box” type toolbox, highly recommend looking into a waterproof plastic tackle box. Holds more, has removable plastic compartments with customizable sections for drillbits and driver tips etc, And they’re incredibly strong, durable, and weigh next to nothing. For tool storage and organization that will hold up to daily use and abuse, I highly recommend this toolbox.

The three drawers would not open. Required prying them open with a screwdriver then bending the sides of the drawer face in so they would no longer hang up on the frame of the box. I do not recommend this product. It looks used and I have not put my first tool into it.

This is a very nice tool box, it is sturdy and lightweight made out of metal. It is very similar to the top box on a rolling tool box. All of the drawers open and close smoothly and lock shut when the lid is closed. It is just small enough to be portable while being large enough to hold all of your most used tool. The side handles are also sturdy and easy to grip. My last couple boxes have been made of plastic which is a grate way to save weight but they just don't hold up. I think this one is going to do the trick it is about the same weight as the plastic but feels much more heavy duty. If I have any issues after using it for a few months I will update this review.

Got this to add to my tool cart at work. I ended up respraying mine because I wanted white, and it came out fine. Drawers will hold the extra thick Kaizen foam for tool cutouts, sheet metal feels just as thick as most other boxes I own, handle works fine, but I put some duct tape on mine so it's more grippy. If you want a quick box to grab so you don't bring the entire chest with you, nice to have.

This Tool Box is the perfect size to store all my tools at home. It is a much sturdier box than my previous tool box. This toolbox is the perfect size, sturdy and durable, and is perfect for my needs. I love that it comes in a few different colors (black is my favorite color). Top drawer slide was broken, no mats, cheap piece of tin. Do not waste your money on this. Return started within 10 minutes of unpacking.
