I've bought from Barrington a couple of times and I've received quality product. This time the option to buy the cutting boards as used was available. Normally I stay away from this option, but the price was too good to not give it a try. I was anxious about the purchase, but after opening the box, I was very glad I did! The description of slight defects was an overstatement. Of the 18 boards, only 5 had some type of defect! There is a little sanding and such to be done, but nothing that is outrageous. I was thinking of buying more than the 1 set, but was wary of the disclaimer of defects. I just went to order more, but the price has gone up 20% in the 4 days from purchase!     • Quality Wood At a Good Price
I have a jointer and a planer but it's good to be able to just glue up boards without using any equipment beforehand.

Most of the pieces were straight and clean. I had to joint some of the walnut. Overall good quality wood and I would buy it again.

Like most I used these for cutting boards and it was perfect for my use. There isn’t a hardwood dealer close to me that will do smaller orders, so while these may be a little pricey per bdft , the fact they are mostly milled and delivered to my front door makes up for that. Now again I say MOSTLY milled. There will be some cleaning up to do with most of the pieces (not perfectly square, some chipped edges, a knot or two, ect) If you buy these understanding there will be a little bit of work then they are great for you. If you want something PERFECTLY precut and ready to go, then I suggest a pre cut kit from rockler ... show more

    • Nice quality pieces of wood
Have made a couple of projects with these and the quality is very good. The maple had some discoloring but usually just on one side. Milling seems to be dead straight on the long faces but some of the end cuts were a little bit off square. Dimensions match what is advertised. The large faces are near-perfect and would glue together nicely, but about half the edges had very minor imperfections, and might need to be trimmed or planed if you wanted totally seamless glue joints. ... show more
