Got one side installed and it helped a ton. Now the trunk stays open. Unfortunately the gas spring on the other side immediately failed after install. May be an omen for the future but price is right and works well enough. The bad spring likes to stay fully retracted as I suspect the oring failed on the piston. Hopefully I can just get a replacement for the one side and not have to remove the other side to send back the pair.

We got these for a different purpose in the car. But they were rough. They are super, super strong and work just as they are expected to. These are really good quality.

The truck is designed slightly different and actually utilizes the hole that this is supposed to take advantage of. They simply slapped all year models without verifying that it fits. It's falsely advertised.

The media could not be loaded. OK, so first off, is this a necessity? No. Is it cool and an easy upgrade? Absolutely yes. Kit contains an adapter to mount the strut to the bolt that protrudes at the front edge of the package shelf. The hinge mechanism already has a hole pre-drilled to receive the other end of the strut. The strut is exactly the right length, no forcing needed to get it mounted. Photo attached of the installed part, as well as the tools I used - trim removal tool, adjustable wrench to grip and tighten the adapter that goes on the package shelf bolt, 12mm wrench to hold the bolt for the gas tube end, 13mm wrench to tighten the nut at the gas tube end, and a 10mm socket to tighten the nut at the rod end. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is no instruction sheet provided. The online video gives a good overview. I didn't remove the existing torsion springs. Not sure how this would affect the operation. Would strongly suggest applying some white lithium lube to the ball and socket of the struts, as well as all hinge pivot points and torsion spring touch points as long as you are in there. The original set up from the factory has the trunk very easy to latch. This set up needs a bit more force to overcome the strut tubes, might take a little getting used to.

The media could not be loaded. These trunk struts work great on my 2013 Ford Fusion, I have the "OEM Ford Spoiler" on the back of my car which does weight the struts down a bit when the trunk launches open but does fully extend. There were no instructions on how to install these, but I was able to figure it out. Tools Required, 10MM Socket & 1/2" Wrench. I would recommend this product. Video attached.

The shocks DO NOT hold the trunk open at all. I tried 2 sets and both were not strong enough, had to return them.
