  • It works fine.
Works well with Paul McWhorter's series on the ultimate GPS tracker tutorial. Small antenna gets many satellites (up to 11) in my house. No trouble getting satellites, but, my programing and understanding skills leave a lot to be desired. but working on it and this gps works fine.

  • GREAT Price and easy to integrate into my projects
These little GPS units were so simple to hook up using the included header or just soldering wires onto the proper places on the board. VCC, Ground, TXD, RXD and the PPS pins are easily accessed on the board making connection a breeze! Time to first fix was very quick compared to other units I've used in the past, but these are great. Lots of details are still available on this older model GPS with a little digging you'll find most anything you need to know. Downloaded the U-Connect software from U-BLOX and it immediately located the unit on a USB serial port. Once selected in the software, it started communicating as expected nearly immediately. These will easily serve my needs for the projects I got them for and I'll consider them top of the list for the next projects as well. ... show more

  • Works, no issues, nothing not to like
Two U-Blox 7 modules with antennas for 18 bucks, work as expected out of the box, no issues, nothing not to like. If you have a Linux box, you can get on the air with these babies in about 2 minutes: The first 1:55 with an eye loupe to connect the antenna, the last 5 seconds to plug it into a USB port. Reports USB device info as follows: idVendor = 0x1546 (U-Blox) idProduct = 0x01a7 (U-blox 7) which is then claimed by low-level ACM driver cdc_acm and shows up as /dev/ttyACMn, 9600 bps, 8N1. And at that point it's "just another GPS", and you can have fun with whatever userland utilities you like to configure and/or just gobble GNSS sentences (binary or NMEA, take your pick, U-Blox 7 supports both options.) Observed self-ID sentences immediately after power-up: $GPTXT,01,01,02,ANTSTATUS=OK*3B $GPTXT,01,01,02,u-blox ag - www.u-blox.com*50 $GPTXT,01,01,02,HW UBX-G70xx 00070000 FF7FFFFFo*69 $GPTXT,01,01,02,ROM CORE 1.00 (59842) Jun 27 2012 17:43:52*59 $GPTXT,01,01,02,PROTVER 14.00*1E $GPTXT,01,01,02,ANTSUPERV=AC SD PDoS SR*20 The very bottom line on the label of the units I received is 2311, probably a date code (i.e. November 2023) but not sure that's right. Not confirmed. Both the units I received obtained cold-start 2D fix in about 2 minutes, 3D fix about a minute later, indoors, above grade, with the supplied ceramic antennas. In steady-state, usually sees between 15-25 sats, uses 6 or 7. CEP is surprisingly large even with 6-7 sats, usually around 25m. Can't explain that. The actual reported location is within about 3m most of the time. For $9 each, what's not to like? Five stars. ... show more

  • Tiny GPS plus plus
She indication of functional libraries would have made it a little easier. Otherwise, works great!!!!

  • Works great
Works great with my Raspberry Pi for setting up a time server. My only 'complaint' is how short the antenna is. 12" would be a minimum but these are only about 4"

  • Easy to use, fast lock!
Using these for time keeping with arduinos. Linked with windows laptop first to see lock and data transmission. (Drivers are really finicky and hard to get working though.) Eventually got these setup using an Arduino and was able to extract the time data from a lock and use it for a clock. (When there's a "lock", the RTC module gets updated with the current time if there's a certain offset). These work great and all lock family quickly even in my basement or living room within a minute. If outside they lock within 10 seconds. Very happy with these for various projects. Arduino libraries are full featured for these to get going quickly. ... show more

  • Purchased 2Pack and Only Received single module
Bad seller, great product. Module works great, but the seller is unprofessional and sends incorrect product.

  • Working as expected
Been happy with these, and the pin ordering makes it easy to put on a Raspberry Pi (for an NTP time source of course :-) starting with just a set of "DuPont" style jumper wires for now. The included antenna allows it to get a fairly reliable signal through a roof, a second story, and then down on a shelf below all that — though admittedly it's a *bit* finicky down there but once I got it pointing upwards it's been solid since then. Haven't put these through any particular rigorous testing for signal accuracy or protocol compatibility whatnot but given what they already do for the price I'm more than satisfied! They are recognized and usable by the Linux gpsd stack without any particular fuss. ... show more
