Like many other commenters have noted, I have a GE Christmas Tree that stopped lighting. Mine is a 9 Foot, 900 LED Color Changing (White / Multicolor lights) model from Costco, item# 832910. When lit, the white light setting would dimly flicker when on and none the other settings had any light at all. Everything worked fine when I put it away last year but when we set it up this Christmas, we experienced the problem immediately. I had extra transformers from my Sylvania Smart Outdoor lights, so I tried one out. It was a lower voltage so did not fully work but for whatever reason, the only setting that worked was the solid multicolor lights. So although we prefer white, we just kept it on multi-colored for the season. Before putting away the tree, I tried to find an OEM replacement for my GE transformer Model GT-30V12 but you can’t find the GE part anywhere (including at GE). I found this this product on Amazon and read comments from people having the same issues as mine, so I ordered it. The 29V/13W was almost identical to the 29V/12W listed on my original transformer. Before putting the tree away for the season, I tested it out. The plug fits my lights perfectly and every setting now works beautifully again. This $17 replacement part was an awesome find. It saved needlessly getting rid of an otherwise great $400 Christmas tree with a simple repairable issue. I will caveat by saying that our family likes to buy American made products wherever possible and this is made in China. In all fairness though, our whole tree was Made in China. Our prewired Christmas tree started to go extremely dim after a few minutes. I researched likely causes, and most signs pointed to a dying AC/DC adapter. I was able to find the part number, but like our tree it is long out of production. Another supplier had a cross reference chart which showed that this product was compatible with the original one that came with the tree, but that supplier was out of stock. I found the same item on Amazon, but I would have skipped it entirely except that I had found that chart. This would be a five star review except for the additional research to verify that it would work, and considering the probably large number of similar components reaching end of life and replaced by other items would be well worth cross-referencing. ... show more

I purchased this device for my GE Xmas tree. The OEM GT-30V12 (29v @ 12w) failed (see attached Picture) and I understood that this device could replace it after reading a review from another buyer with the identical failed device as mine. As luck would have it, the device the Seller sent me was defective. I contacted the Seller and he sent me a replacement immediately. All is good now and I am very happy with the replacement device and the customer service was excellent. I also would like to mention that I purchased a 13w version for use as a backup, and that device works very well also. Since the OEM device was 12w, the 13w or the 18w has worked for me equally as well during several days of testing each device. I would also like to share that the only reason I purchased the 18w device originally was because the 13w version was not available at the time. Our prelit Christmas tree would not work properly when it was put up in Dec. lights would sometimes flash white with only dim light. Called. The number for GE they said a replacement part was not available to fix the issue.So we installed new lights around the tree. While taking down the tree, we tried to get it working without success. Did an internet search and saw where the problem could be the converter. Tested the output that showed only 16 volts. Located a replacement online made by original manufacturer GE but theirs was out of stock!!! Turned to Amazon and had this replacement the next day. We have a 10 year old 7.5 ft Costco pre lit Christmas tree that we paid several hundred dollars for and this year the lights did not turn on at all. Using a Lightkeeper Pro I was able to determine that electricity was getting to this transformer, but not after it. My wife wanted to purchase a new tree, but I wanted to try to replace the transformer first for under $15 It took 10 days to arrive as I believe it was coming from China, but I plugged it in and Christmas was saved (along with several hundred dollars! We have a 9 foot artificial Christmas tree from Costco that would not light up this year. It's about 9 years old. After checking with GE, the manufacturer of the switch and adapter, we found that they don't offer a replacement for either. This meant our only option was to throw the tree out and get a new one for $700+ dollars. We did some research and decided to give this switch a try. It's not an exact match but works very well.
