I’ve been a computer enthusiast for over 40 years. I tend to answer questions asked with much longer answers that most people asking intended, so I will try to be less pedantic. This is a very fast IPS monitor. What is an IPS monitor you ask? [note to self: keep it simple.] An IPS monitor, which stands for and "In-Plane Switching" monitor, is a type of LCD display technology known for superior color accuracy, wide viewing angles, and consistent color. That is the text book definition. It doesn’t matter to us, the end user, how or why this happens…we just know IPS has good color and the screen will be visible from the side. Those are both really good things to have. We like black blacks, and white whites, and as a rule I’ve found IPS better colors than LED. That is not said to insult LED’s, but rather to compliment IPS color and contrast. [That said, unless you have a very trained “eye”, it is hard to visually evaluate the difference between high end LED and IPS monitors.] The speed at which a monitor “draws” the image on the screen is called the “response time”, and the best way to visualize this (no pun intended) is to think about how fast the image on the screen changes when you press a key on the keyboard, or move the mouse. The less delay between “your” action, and the monitor’s reaction, the more seamless the transition from “image to image” the better. This monitor is rated at 1ms, and that is about as fast as any commercially available monitor. There are those that will suggest that incredibly fast response times can result in pixelation or blurred images. I have not experienced this in 2 weeks of daily use with this monitor. Sports, movies, and youtube are all pristine images. I like the size, the speed, the colors, and candidly, the price. It is nearly impossible to find a $100 monitor that offers this screen size, this color quality, and this 1ms speed. I think it is a great deal! I don’t know how long this monitor will last. I’ve had monitors that lasted 6 months, and others that lasted 15 years. I’m hoping for a long, useful life. I have looked everywhere for warranty info on this Vaimi monitor and I can’t find anything. I’ve purchased monitors with 90 day warranties, and others with 3-5 year warranties. I must admit that I am a bit concerned that this isn’t easy to find. It assembled “as expected”, and looks “finished”...the edges, the fit, and the appearance from all sides look clean and sharp. It does tilt up and down to optimize the viewer’s preference. It offers “blue light” filtering which many find very beneficial, especially in low light settings. I have no complaints and only praise at this early stage of the product’s life. If this screen fails or suffers from “image” burns, I will edit this review reflecting such.

After spending several weeks with the VAIMI 24.5" Gaming Monitor, I can say it offers solid performance for its price point, though it comes with some trade-offs worth considering. Pros: +Fast 180Hz refresh rate provides smooth motion in fast-paced games +1ms response time eliminates most visible ghosting +IPS panel delivers good color accuracy and wide viewing angles +Slim bezels give it a modern, clean appearance +FreeSync support works well to eliminate screen tearing +Good build quality for the price point Cons: -1080p resolution, while sufficient, isn't the sharpest for desktop work -Stand has limited adjustability options -Built-in speakers are basic and lack bass -Menu navigation could be more intuitive -Color calibration needed out of the box for best results The VAIMI 24.5" hits most of the right notes for competitive gamers who prioritize high refresh rates over resolution. The Fast IPS panel provides a good balance between speed and image quality, though you'll want to tweak the colors for optimal results. While it may not compete with premium offerings from major brands, it delivers solid performance for its price point, but in 2025, the reality is that 1080p isn't cutting it anymore. If possible I would save up for a bit higher resolution, but if you need to save money wherever possible, this will serve you just fine.

Out of the box the build quality felt very thin and flimsy. The picture was decently bright out of the box without having to adjust the settings. The display looked alright when showing the desktop but you could see some backlight bleeding through around the edges of the screen on a black screen. The input connections are all the way at the bottom of the monitor so you can see the hdmi cable and the power supply cord hanging down even after moving them around the monitor stand. The vesa mount is also at the bottom of the monitor as well so that is something to consider if picking this up as a secondary monitor. The short screws that came with my mount (m4×12mm) were too long for the monitor when screwed in all the way, I had to use 1/4" washers to get it to attach to the mount. The back of the monitor has some rgb lights that change. If you like that kind of stuff I guess it's okay but I think it doesn't do much except add to the price of the monitor.

I love the sleek look of the monitor and how simple it is to put together. The issue is the picture quality \it is very dull and it is difficult to change picture modes. Then when you do, its still pretty dull.
