These are great bars as long as you understand their limits. I bought this for my wife's 29er that I am still shopping for. Waiting for that perfect bike to come along on cl or pb. She prefers a more upright sitting position and these narrower riser bars will provide that. She is not a hardcore downhiller, just likes to ride the relatively easy dirt paths and rail trails for exercise and sightseeing. Again, these bars will be perfect for that application. At this price point, I would not expect them to hold up to the rigors of downhill bashing or dirt jumping like my Deity's. But for rec riding they are just right and I expect them to provide a comfortable experience for my wife on her new bike. I'll update with some pics when that happens, I'm currently very happy with these bars, one less thing I have to purchase when we do find that goldilocks bike. ... show more

My mountain bike has a very wide and flat handlebar. It makes it a challenge to ride between tightly spaced trees. I'm tall and have my seat up high, so the low bar creates more strain on my shoulders and neck. This bar helps with both issues. It has a nice textured finish and appears to be well made. I don't know how it would hold up to extreme terrain, but for me it should be plenty good. ... show more

The stock handlebars on the Cannondale CX1 have virtually no rise and are very uncomfortable on long rides. The BICYCGEAR 31.8 Bike Handlebars 720mm, 86mm Rise Bicycle Handlebars are a tremendous upgrade to the stock handlebars. They appear to be just as well made and rugged as the stock.
