Jimmy Carter was not Issued. Bush has a Special Issue due to his passing over 2 years ago. The law states "No coin issued under this subsection may bear the image of a living former or current President, or of any deceased former President during the 2-year period following the date of the death of that President." Now since the 2 years has passed he will be getting his coin. Carter is still alive at this time and still will not have one issued yet. 40 Coin Denver Mint Set. D Mint is Denver Mint. This is the complete set 2007-2016 of the Presidential Dollar coins. I've read many of the reviews and they all missed one important point - the reason you don't have Carter, Bush Sr, Clinton, W. Bush, and Obama is by the time this series ended in 2016, those Presidents were still living. The enabling legislation that created the coins does not allow a LIVING president to be on U.S. coinage. The legislation stipulated the president had to have been deceased two years. George H. W. Bush - number 41 died in 2018, two years after the last coins were produced. It is a shame that several of the reviewers of this coin set wrote about these men being missing and mentioned it in their reviews and were apparently not told this when they contacted the company about the 'missing' coins of presidents 39, 41, 42, 43 and 44. Perhaps an explanation of this might be included in the product description in the future. These presidents will not appear as the coins are no longer being produced by the U.S. Mint. The last presidential coin in this series was the Ronald Reagan coin in 2016. Anyone buying these coins needs to understand that there is a difference between an uncirculated coin and a proof coin. The uncirculated coin will still have noticeable blemishes while a proof coin won't and will have a more vibrant look them. Some reviewers did not seem aware of this difference. I was more than pleased with the appearance of the coins in this set. These were the 'D' mint coins out of the Denver Mint. The 'P' or Philadelphia mint coins are also available (as of the date of this review) from the merchant and I will be buying that series next. This is a great item to commemorate our U.S. presidents and preserve our Nation's history. If the absence of the missing presidents really bothers you, consider getting privately made commemorative coins (these are not made by the U.S. Mint) and these are available on Amazon. ... show more
