My work doesn't really allow for a wristwatch, and I don't always have my cell phone on me for fear of loss, so I got these. I clip one on my belt loop so I always have a way to tell time. Seems to hold time well, is easy enough to read, even in the dark with the luminous dial although it does dim over time. Whey they come, there is a little plastic tab under the knob. Pry that out from the stem, you may need a tool or paper clip to do it, set the time, and press the knob down into the watch body until it clicks. This will activate the mechanism. They are shipped this way to save the battery, as the watch is 'off' until you depress the stem. Durability seems pretty good, the body is metal, and the face is resisting scratches so far. I don't like wearing wristwatches and so I've carried a pocket watch for some time now. I love pocket watches, but under many circumstances, it is very inconvenient pulling one out. This pendant watch is an excellent compromise. It instantly, but securely clips to a belt loop and is read in an instant; it also unclips without binding. The face is large enough for easy reading although I wish the hands were black or otherwise easier to see. The watch is surprisingly heavy, is chrome plated with a SS back. I don't know, but I think the case may be brass, judging from its weight. The crystal is hard mineral and so far seems to resist scratching. The carabiner is sturdy and should hold up, but not for mountain climbing. It comes with no information, so I don't know if it is waterproof or even where it is made (China I assume). I clip these little time pieces on to my handbag or backpack when I'm out and about. It's a lot easier than pulling out my phone or tablet to see the time. They are quite accurate. I liked these watches, except that the crystal, (glass), broke on both. I wore them on my belt loop working in a restaurant where wrist watches are not allowed. They keep great time, but if they see any abuse the crystal can easily break. One was hit by a step ladder that fell against my hip, but I have no idea what caused the other to break. ... show more
