Bought these to babysit my houseplants while away from home. Large size and includes a dowel for porting a hole in plant pot before inserting as well as a tube brush to remove dirt when refilling. Important to insert at the correct angle or water will not drip or it will empty too quickly. I had originally planed to order colored globes but they were too small. Got these and love how pretty they are in the pots.

This is a nice kit. The glass itself seems thin, but so far they are holding up. They are pretty, and it's easy to see when they are empty. I like the inclusion of a stick to make a hole in the soil, and the cleaning brush. The package was nice too, very cushioned for shipping glass.

I had to leave town for a week, and worried about a rather delicate flowering plant in my window that gets watered every other day. My daughter, a constant traveler, recommended the Self-Watering Globes. I poked a hole with the dowel, filled the globe and pushed it in the pot as directed. When I left, it was full. Eight days later it was empty, and the plant seemed quite pleased with itself, with new buds. Some old plants have soil too hard or root-filled for the dowel. I avoided forcing it, and just over-watered a bit. It was a succulent and survived OK. The Self-Watering Globes do indeed seem to work, especially with plants that can dry out fast.

I often leave town for trips and was nervous about some new flowers I bought to die in several days of 80-90 degree heat and no one to water them. I last minute bought these and I am SO relieved as this is the answer to my problem! The green water bottles are plastic which is great bc I was worried about them breaking. The terra cotta makes for the nice slow drip. All my plants looked great after coming home from my trip. Easy to use and reuse. Highly recommend to keep those plant babies moist and watered well!
