These compact glasses from Skyoak in their thin hard protective carrying case are just what I was looking for. I like to keep a pair of reading glasses with me but I didn't always have an easy way to carry them, and I don't like using clunky lanyards. Recently I bought a pair of Duluth carpenter pants with a convenient pocket located on the leg of the pants. When I put my reading glasses in that pocket they were quickly beat up. I don't have that problem with my new ultrathin glasses in their solid thin case. They fit snugly in my pocket and are protected from everyday wear and tear. I like these glasses so much I bought more pairs to stow away in various pockets of coats and clothing I wear regularly. I highly recommend the reading glasses from Skyoak.

Ultra Thin Portable Folding Reading Glasses comes with the hard case and lens cloth. The readers are very flat and unloads from the hard case via a slide lever that pushes out the glasses enough to pull out by hand. Just the reverse to put the glasses back into the case. The readers are nice and light, so I can place them low on my nose to read my phone or book or a map in front of me and allow my eyes to look up to see something far away. No need to constantely take the readers off and on, especially for traveling and trying to read far away signs information while navigating via phone GPS or a hard copy map. The case is thin and secure versus a soft case. This cannot easily crush in a purse or backpack or even pocket. It's so thin that it can fit into very small places and keep the reading glasses available when and where ever needed. Too bad there's no place for the lens cloth in the case. The 1.5 magification is sufficient to read a handheld device or documents or book. I don't need the higher 2 or 2.5 magnfication required to do fine work like fly tying or needlepoint sewing, etc where precision is needed. This design is so much better and fast to use versus other folding versions that have larger frames and more steps to unfold/fold.

Since turning 40, my near eyesight has gotten progressively worse. My far sight is just fine so wearing readers is always a pain. You can't look up and down very easily since far away items turn blurry due to the close up magnification. I don't always need glasses so having a pair at the ready just in case is clutch. I do have prescription progressives but they are so pricey and can make me dizzy after wearing all day. Especially when my day involves close up and far away sight, for example I work in a coffee shop and sometimes I need to see the register, but also see the customers or who's coming in the door. These are actually the perfect compromise. When I need to see something close, I can pull these out and wear them, yet easily look over the top to spy something far away. They are in a hard plastic case with a slide bar, so very convenient to carry and store. I can't figure out how to carry the cleaning fabric though--it can't fit in the case-- so I opt to carry it separately. The downside is that my kids do call me grandma, since I wear them lower on my nose and look over top when I need to. But other than that, the magnification is perfect and I'm very happy with the durability and comfort.

I'm at the age that I now need reading glasses all the time to be able to read or see anything up close. I really wasn't expecting a lot from this pair of reading glasses, but I wanted something to keep in my backpack so that I will always have a pair with me. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of these glasses. They are extremely thin, which is perfect to slide into the front pocket of my backpack. It comes with a case to protect the glasses and did I mention how incredibly thin these are? The glasses slides out of the case easily using the slide. At first, I though they feel a little flimsy, but the frame is made of what feels to be durable material, but is also very flexible. The glasses is much smaller than my normal pair of glasses, but it actually fits pretty well. The arms are very flexible and can stretch quite a bit. It's also super light weight. I'm going to have go get several more pairs of these just to have around.

The best function of these ultra thin reading glasses is the portability of them. Such a smart design how the glasses slide into a case that is only 5 ½ ”L x 1 ¼” W x ¼” thick and is lightweight and durable. There is a lining in the case to prevent the lenses from getting scratched as you slide them in and out – I can’t really see it well, just the edge of the lining. A slide lever ejects the glasses from the case with the gentle push of a thumb. The whole case is extremely light but a the same time hard and durable. I’ve gotten where I need reading glasses frequently and wanted a pair I could keep in my shirt pocket. The size of these with the case is perfect to carry without taking up much room. The glasses have thin metal earpieces with rubber tips on the ends and plastic frames around the lens. They are really comfortable and very light on the face. The height of the actual lens with frame is only about 7/8” which I actually like because I only want to read through them and be able to easily see over them – if you don't like small lens these may not be for you but I usually prefer a smaller lens. The whole package includes two pair of glasses with cases, one rope, one screwdriver, 2 cloths, 2 pcs of tape. I’m really pleased with the design, comfort of the glasses, and the sturdiness of the case. A great pair of traveling glasses.
