I wanted a few spare 18650 button top batteries for my Nicron L71 flashlights. After some disappointing results from the first batteries that I bought, I decided to test the performance of seven different brands of batteries against the Nicron batteries that came with the flashlight. The test was simple: how long would it run a Nicron L71 flashlight in its red light mode before the battery was fully exhausted. Several fully-charged samples of each brand of battery were tested in different Nicron L71 flashlights to help ensure accurate results. The test result are below, listed from best to worst.
