The post light with planter looks great. It was difficult to assemble in that there was a lot of extra plastic flash that needed to be trimmed and the directions were virtually useless. At first I thought there must be a piece missing because I could not get the post into the planter. Thanks to a review by somebody else, I realized I had to cut off a lot of plastic flash to get the post into the slot provided. Now that the item is assembled, it looks very attractive. I originally ordered the 2 pac, parts in it were broken so I returned that and ordered just 1. The item arrived missing the point that completes the elevated light portion. The lamp is also a 1wat bulb at yes it illustrates but I would not say that it provides light to the surrounding area.

The planter is much shallower than I thought it would be. Since it needs to be in the sun to charge the solar light, I will probably have to put artificial flowers in it. Otherwise, when it gets hotter, I’d have to water them twice a day. Otherwise, they are very cute.

Purchased this as a gift for my MIL - she loves it! Frankly, so do I! I'm considering purchasing one for myself, as well. I didn't have the trouble other people mentioned putting it together. Worth it .. love it!

    • To assemble, you have to remove extra inner plastic net from the post!

As several reviewers already mentioned, the middle part of the post has no way to come into the lower part (that attached to the planter), unless you realize, that the whole plastic "net" inside it is an extra remnants, by some mistake not removed by the manufacturer. It's not easy to remove them (I used some very sharp large scissors and a lot of effort, and was close to return the whole thing), but that's the only way. After that, when the item is finally assembled and filled with flowers, it looks pretty. It's important that it has drainage holes, so you don't have to drill them yourself. ... show more

After putting them together, I was impressed with the power of the solar light. Not just a small glow but an actual light.
