  • Most crates look the same - they aren't, and you need to know the difference.
Size: 30-50 lbs
I have the 24" model of the crate that is advertised. It belonged to my dog that passed away late last year. She was 15 years old. That crate was hers from the time she was a puppy. And it's still going strong 16 years later. My new dog is a little longer than Gizmo and would feel more comfortable in a 30" crate (Gizmo loved her crate and would go in and out of it throughout the day - I left the door open for her). I've looked everywhere for the same model or a model with the same safety features. I was happy to see the crate I wanted offered on Amazon. I thoroughly examined the description and images, looking closely for certain safety features and signs of quality. Yep, I found it! Except.... I didn't. The crate that just arrived at my front door is a cheap knock-off of the one that's described and pictured in the ad. The fasteners that secure the front and back panels to the top panel ARE NOT WHAT'S ADVERTISED AND PICTURED, and are not nearly as secure as what I was led to believe I purchased. Also, the ad shows TWO front door latches with an L-design. The crate I received has ONE front door latch, and it lacks the L-design. I've included some pictures of my old crate's panel fasteners and front door latches, as well as the new crate's panel fasteners and front door latch so you can see what I'm being so long winded about. The first two pictures are my of my old crate, but are also the exact same features that are advertised and the reason I purchased the new crate. These are important safety features. The third and fourth pictures are the knock-off crate the seller shipped to me. At first glance the crates appear to look the same. Look closely and you'll see the difference. I guess I'm off to another pet store to try and find what I'm looking for. I'm very disappointed that my money is tied up while the knock-off crate gets shipped back and processed, seeing as how I purchased the crate in good faith based of the ad's description and pictures. This crate and this seller deserve zero stars. ... show more

  • It is NOT as depicted in the photos !!! Absolute rip off !
Size: 70-90 lbs
I bought this since the AmazonBasics crate is no longer available. The photos of this crate are flat out incorrect for the 70-90 lb size which is 42 x 28 x 30. The photos show dual latches. THIS IS A SINGLE LATCH CRATE HINGED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DOOR WHICH I WOULD NOT TRUST FOR A VERY AGGRESSIVE DOG. This is a flimsy crate with single latches. The photo shows the wide side door hinged on the right and therefore opening from the left. The wide side door opens the opposite way. Now I'll have to decide if I can live with the flimsy single latches on the wrong side or return it. UPDATE: It is now a few weeks later and I had decided to keep this crate - until this morning - when our Walker/Beagle managed to play with the door long enough that the single latch slid open it and he walked out. Fortunately my wife was nearby. NOW IT IS GOING BACK. FINAL UPDATE: Instead of going through the hassle of returning this crate I secured a fairly strong disc magnet to the latch with heat shrink tubing. Now there is no way the dog can press on the door and sort of vibrate/slide/force the latch to gradually move and release. Once the magnet is dropped down on the wire crossbar it will not move. Problem solved. ... show more

  • Miniature Pinascher Kennel
Size: 25-30 lbs
My min pin has been kennel trained. She is 16 pounds and this fits her well. She is able to move and turn with her blanket. Min pins burrow in blankets so they need the space. So far everything is working well; one month in. The latch and door are secure. When latching the door, you have to lift up the whole door to secure it the latch. This makes the kennel more secure. I also prefer this kennel over the plastic ones, as those can become very hot for the dogs in summer time. During the colder winter months i just drape a blanket over the kennel to make it warmer. This is a great deal and I would recommend for small dogs. ... show more

  • Loved the first one... second one was different and not what I thought I would be getting
Size: 50-70 lbs
I ordered this crate earlier this year and loved the door assembly. The extra safety hasp and straight bar on mechanism was great so I ordered another one. Second one was completely different but I had ordered the same crate. If the first one had the L-shaped lock mechanism I would have not ordered the second one as this mechanism is harder to use. Be careful when ordering as it seems like whoever is the lowest bidder in regards to suppliers will be the one chosen to ship out the crate. These two crates were clearly not from the same supplier. The first crate was superior, the second was average. ... show more

  • Stop looking around, purchase this one.
Size: 25-30 lbs
I bought a dog crate from Petco when my dog outgrew her small one and paid $70. I bought this one as a second one to keep at my moms house when she dog sits my pup! This one is MUCH better quality then my Petco crate and a tiny bit bigger. I got so ripped off! So I returned my $70 one and bought a second off of here. Two for the price of ONE I would of paid in the store! The edges aren't sharp like some of the other reviews say. I'm not super handy with putting things together (I leave that for the husband) but had no trouble setting it up by myself. I'm insanely satisfied with both crates. So is that pup :) ... show more

  • Not as pictured or described
Size: 50-70 lbs
Very disappointing! I thought this was the one I was looking for according to the picture and description. It was not. The one I received only had one latch on either door and you had to pick up the door to “latch” the top before latching the actual latch. The wire was very flimsy and thin.

  • Product matches advertisement description, seems like quality
Size: 90-125 lbs
Just wanted to say that product arrived as described. I was pretty hesitant after reading g the 1 star reviews that warned that the product is different than advertised. 5 years ago I bought this crate in a smaller size and loved it for the 5 point locking system. Tonight 1/2/19 I received the one I just ordered on amazon (32 inches high) and it has the 5 point locking system as described. Not saying the other posts are false just saying I've had a good experience with this purchase so far. I've also seen some reviews saying the quality doesn't last. Hopefully I will update in 6 months to a year from now re quality. But on first arrival it looks just as high of quality as the petmate precision crate I bought 5 years ago which never rusted and I still use. ... show more
