Great product. I used a printer enclosure and cut away the original film that wa difficult to see through for the window and installed this laser safety filter window. It works great. I might buy a film tinted static cling to put in a small area when I want to observe super bright light without wearing my safety goggles (I know — I should always wear them, but since I know I won’t I will buy the darker film to make a more protected viewing angle). The size is good and the price may seem high but frankly with the quality of the product I would have been happy to pay even $10-$20 more now seeing it. I was delighted once it was installed and I saw how nice it was. I could have don’t a better job on my install but that is on me for just wanting to get it done fast. I might go back and make it nicer in the future and increase the window area as I artificially made my smaller with the tape. But for now I am all set with the aluminum tape install until I get some time to do something different. Definitely recommend the product and the exact setup with the Yoopai giant printer enclosure works great for a full size fiber MOPA laser setup. (Both sold here on Amazon).

I am somewhat of an expert on these type of laser windows and glasses. While I am not a big fan of CE rated equipment, as I consider the rating standard suspect to the manufacturer certification rather than an independent lab like UL or ETL. But this window appears to be properly made. They properly list the frequencies of light and the OD blocking ability. They also serialized this unit, which is a big plus for traceability. Which is a lot more professional than a lot of places that sell these. This particular size looks to be made for a helmet. I don't plan to use it that way. I plan to make a plastic or metal enclosure for my laser engraver and put this window horizontally in the center so I can view my engraving without having to worry about wearing glasses. It's perfect for this purpose. It's definitely of the appropriate thickness. And it appears correct. I do not have proper testing equipment to put the appropriate frequencies on this at a specific power level to measure its transmission level. But like I said it appears to be built correctly. It also has a decent amount of visible light pass through for your ability to see what's happening inside in my engraver in my case. You can always add a light inside your engraver, which I do have, two illuminate the engraving and be able to see it clearly through this window. As always, these type of laser safety protection shields, are designed for stray reflections from your laser welder or your laser engraver. They are NOT designed for direct laser beam exposure and protection. On my high-powered laser welder, this window if put right in front of the focused beam would protect for about 0.1 to 0.2 seconds before it penetrates. So don't lure yourself into a false sense of security and ever. A laser directly at one of these lenses. For a low-powered laser engraver this single lens is more than sufficient. If you're using it on a helmet with a high-powered laser, wear a pair of laser safety glasses under your helmet. I know it sounds like a lot of extra protection and it does dim your ability to see, but it's worth it. You only have one set of eyes. This is a nice sized window whether standalone as I am plan to use it or in a helmet. It also represents a good value for the money, it's really not that expensive and your eyes are worth it.

My husband and I have a few lasers, 2 large and one small, and the larger ones have safety enclosures with viewing windows that are rated much like this safety window. The smaller one doesn't, and we usually use that one to make something small quick so that the larger ones can do batch jobs. I was just using an enclosure with a clear plastic window. But reading all the safety warnings about not looking at the laser had me a little nervous. I was happy to see this. While I'm no expert, it blocks a lot of wavelengths, which makes my laser safer to use. My husband added this to our existing fabric encloser and, even though it's larger than the window that the enclosure has, it works for us. It seems to be acrylic, it's thick, it's sturdy, and I can see through it to my project when needed. It's very nice quality and smoothly cut. It also has all of the safety information listed. I've had it in use for a couple of weeks, so I can't say if it works. I haven't had any problems with it or my eyes and if it is made per the safety sticker, I shouldn't. I'm glad to have the layer of safety this provides. I should have gotten a better enclosure, but it's nice to know that I can make one if I want, by buying one of these and fitting it. I think that the price is fair for the quality and features that it provides.

I got this fiber laser safety shield panel to have on hand for when I upgrade my current laser setup. I actually only have a diode laser right now, and this specific panel is made to filter infrared wavelengths (like 1064nm from fiber lasers), so it isn't the right protection for a standard blue/purple diode laser. However, I hope to add an infrared module or a fiber laser to my machine or set up in the future, and that's when I will definitely need this OD6+ shielding. The acrylic panel itself seems well made with nice optical clarity, so there's no issues with cloudiness. The green tint design should keep the internal work area visible, allowing you to monitor the engraving process clearly once installed. The 7.48 by 6.69 inch size fits nicely into small machine viewing windows or compact enclosure setups. While it is a bit on the small side, it seems like it should be effective for filtering the specific infrared wavelengths it is designed for. For the current price, I would probably consider going with one of the larger size options available for this same panel if you wanna cover a bigger area. The surface quality appears durable and holds up well without scratching easily. If you have a fiber laser or plan to get an infrared module, this protective panel offers nice quality, dependable safety, and overall good value for small projects.

I ordered this green OD6+ laser safety shield as the viewing window for a custom enclosure I engineered in my multimedia fabrication workspace for my AtomStack A24 Pro 1064nm infrared laser engraver. I built the housing using heavy‑gauge sheet metal for the main body walls and chassis framework to keep the overall weight manageable, while utilizing cold‑rolled steel plates for the high‑stress structural mounting points, base reinforcement, and flange interfaces where precision flatness and rigidity are critical. After cutting the viewing opening into the steel housing, I left a clean metal flange so this green acrylic panel could sit on a solid shelf and be bolted down tightly. It’s sandwiched between high‑temperature silicone gaskets to guarantee complete light containment while still giving me a safe, filtered view of my marking jobs. Running multiple marking cycles inside the sealed housing proved that this OD6+ shield delivers the exact optical attenuation and consistent visibility required to monitor my AtomStack A24 Pro 1064nm safely during extended engraving runs.
