This is a great door strut that is substantial enough to do the job. Our garage door had started sagging to the point where it would stop and reverse direction and it was beginning to crack. I installed this today and the door is as smooth as butter (self-tapping screws were included). I did have to drill a couple of pilot holes. It's helpful to install the center piece first, I found. Then, you can attach the ends of the longer pieces while clamped to the center and it makes adjustment and installation much simpler. If you are having issues with your garage door sagging, this will most likely help you. My door only had one strut at the top and it is old. This is a great product. Best wishes!

I don’t normally write reviews but I was so impressed with this product that I felt I needed to put one out there. My guess is this strut probably saved me about $600-$1000 in professional repairs. Easy install. Having an extra person to hold the pieces up while you screw them in is helpful. My absolute favorite part about this product in particular is the self-tapping/self-drilling screws. I removed the bottom screws that were on the hinges to put the strut in so I needed to drill pilot holes. After I put the original screws in, I used the self tapping screws with my impact drill and they went right in without pilot holes. I was thoroughly impressed that the screws got through without me drilling pilot holes. The screws that they send with the strut are more than enough so now I have extra of these magical screws. The strut is on nice and tight and my garage no longer sags and looks like it was professionally repaired.

My double car garage door that is 21 years old started sagging in the middle causing the top two panels to start cracking and making loud noises when it snapped back into position. Garage repair company was only interested in selling me a new door for $2500 and said adding a brace would not fix the problem. I ordered this Kit that consists of Two 8 foot sections made of high quality 22 gauge steel and a 3 foot section that is used to join the two pieces together to get one 16 foot garage door brace. First issue for me was no instructions were in the box on how to connect these three pieces together. Online showed holes pre-drilled into the ends of the 8 foot sections but the pieces I received only had holes pre-drilled that allow the sections to be attached to the garage door and not each other. This meant way more work than should have been necessary to support the struts and then drill where needed to attach the three pieces together. my cordless drill was not strong enough for the task so I regrouped my thoughts and decided to install just one 8 foot section in the center to three of the five vertical door struts in the area of sagging & cracking to test if this was going to fix my issue with the door and it worked perfectly in operation. I'm so happy that this kit fixed the issue and saved me the cost of a new garage door.

Arrived with the stop of the box ripped off so I did not have an screws. Quick trip to Lowe's for those. Installed in about 20 minutes. Sagging garage door fixed!

I used this strut to repair a garage door panel that was caving in, and thankfully it worked. The strut itself was straight and strong, and the self-tapping screws did their job. There are zero instructions included in the package so YouTube will be your friend. If you have a similar issue, you’ll need to attach the strut directly below the joint, in the metal. Often there were no pre-drilled holes in that exact spot; that’s what the self tapping screws are for (you’ll want an impact drill with socket attachments). I used a few extra screws in the middle for strength.

After receiving product it did not have any instructions how to install. I thought I was purchasing two 16ft pieces but to my surprise it was two 91 inch pieces that did not help with the sagging of my panel.

The holes will probably not line up to the door, but the self tapping screws work well. My door was sagging badly and this has provided stability to it.

Package arrived without the screws and other hardware, and no manual. It has some pre-drilled holes but not on the center piece where the longs pieces need to be attached. This allows for adjustment of length, but you should know this ahead of time. Amazon's help is done by AI, which is confined to its specific questions. To install this strut the "help" repeatedly refers to "the manual," which wasn't included in my package. My package looked like it has been cut in two then taped over and sent to me, which may account for the missing things. I would not order this again, or anything else I need help with from Amazon. This could have been resolved just by the company sending me the hardware and manual, but Amazon's help didn't provide for that.
