The little symbols and pictures they include for every event/holiday are such a cute touch. The letters are very thick and great quality, along with the string and needle for threading it. I don’t know how, but the glitter does not transfer AT ALL. You can seriously rub your hand against the gold glitter on the letters and nothing comes off! That was somehow to best perk of the entire sign. Must have for parties!

Unless you have a very, very unusual combination of letters, you can't say "There was no banner with that spelling / name available" because this kit allows you to write whatever you want! And add symbols too! The picture in the ad is accurate in the quantity of letters that are available. I admittedly didn't count every one of them to confirm they exactly match the counts in the ad, but what was provided certainly appeared to match. I did reference a few of them and they did indeed match too. The photos are only one of each letter, number, and symbol, but there were at least two of every single character provided. With four spools of ribbon, a number of banners can be made without running out. If a really long banner is made, two ribbons could be easily tied together. They didn't cheap out on the set by, say, putting holes in the top and bottom of a '6' and pretending it can also be used as a '9'. Same thing with the 'M' and 'W', 'O' and '0'. The largest character was the 'W', which measured 5" x 5". The height of the letters and numbers are 5 inches, but some of the characters are short. The golden glitter on the face wasn't flaking off, and we don't have glitter all over the place now either. If done carefully (primarily with the tie-off knot), a "Happy Birthday <person's name>" banner could easily be made, then untied, and the name removed and changed to another person's name. If you are trying to assemble "Happy Birthday Hannah" though, you'd be out of luck as there are only three "H". In hindsight, four would have been more appropriate, but that didn't warrant a star reduction. UPDATE: Finally actually strung a "Happy Birthday" message. I took a picture in front of a window as that was one of the only walls that was long enough and I could use without having something else in the picture. Anyway, the included plastic needle IS needed - at least initially - as it helps poke out the tiny little pre-cut punch-outs at the top of the letters and characters. This raises a caution of make sure you thread this in a spot that you can vacuum as the little pieces get all over the floor. It took about fifteen minutes to pick out the letters and thread them. A "Happy Birthday" banner can be created, carefully folded and kept to rehang (assuming it didn't get destroyed when it was hung the before). After the picture, I added our granddaughter's five-letter name and another peace sign to the banner and STILL had more than six feet of ribbon left over, so there is a lot of room for a long name.

These are perfect! They don’t shed glitter - leaving the wall and floor completely clean but are still perfectly sparkly and bright. The ribbon it comes with is thick and sturdy and easy to hang. It comes with so many letters I can’t believe how many things I can write! Completely recommend!

I took the time to lay out and count the characters and the dimensions and counts are correct as shown. I tried to lay out the letters, stacking those that had the same number (3) and spreading out those that were different (like 2 or 6 ea.) and you'll notice I switched P and Q. I didn't realize until I was picking them back up. It's a nice cardstock weight with a think crinkled gold paper adhered on one side ,so not true glitter so it won't shed. They are durable enough to be reused and if you eventually run out of "string" you can use curling ribbon. There were two large plastic needles included as well as four spools of "string" so multiple banners can be made at once. Some of the punches were still in the letters so make sure you string it over a table or trashcan so cleanup is easier. A few of the letters were also a little stuck together so be sure and look at the side because there may be two together when you think it's just one. I appreciated that they weren't lazy with the 6 and 9 and 0 and O so it looks correct when hung. They are also weighted properly so they don't spin. Adding the special characters is something I hadn't seen before so it allows an even more fun and custom look. I highly recommend this set, it will be useful for years to come.
