I have tried this shark set out a few times with my kids and it is actually a really nice collection. It appears to be made of high quality materials, specifically a non-toxic soft plastic that feels sturdy for play. I appreciate that it has the shark type printed on the bottom of each shark, so you know what type of shark it is. It is helpful to distinguish between a Great White and a Whale Shark without needing a degree in marine biology 🎓 The set includes 13 different figurines that are about 6.5 to 7 inches long. It also comes with an educational booklet that explains the habitats and behaviors of the various species. These work well for bath time or as cake toppers since they are waterproof and durable. I suppose it is a good sign that the only sharks in my house are 7 inches long and made of plastic, as a full-sized Great White would really ruin the living room aesthetic and significantly increase my insurance premiums 🏠🦈 The textures on the figures are realistic and they are safe for children ages 3 and up. This review is for the shark toys set with booklet and gift box, 13 pieces. This is a great set of plastic sharks. Each shark has the name of the shark on the underside. The sharks vary in size with some much smaller than others. They are made out of a hard plastic. Some of the edges of the fins and teeth are a little sharp, so I did take off half a star for this. This is not a set for little kids. There are small pieces that can be easily chewed off, so I do not recommend this as toy for younger kids. The sharks are all pretty detailed and have great coloring. They are pretty realistic for plastic toys. They do look great and appear to be good quality. I took off another half star for the booklet that is included. It's a great addition, but it was pretty bent because it's longer than the gift box, so it had to be bent to fit. Either they need to reduce the size of the booklet, or increase the sie of the gift box as the book is an important part of this set. Overall, I think it's a good value for the price at the time of this review. You get 13 pretty detailed and colorful plastic sharks. These are not cheap looking, so I think the price is reasonable. ... show more

While I'm sure older kids would like these as well, my toddler loves them. We matched each shark figure with the index pictures in the front of the booklet to find their names, then turned to the page with more info about that species. It's a great teaching tool using a subject my child finds interesting. This set may have been first off the line as they covered over a few names in the index with white tags. Not sure if there was a typo or incorrect shark name under the tag, but that looks less than polished. My toddler didn't mind, but hopefully the next batch will be printed correctly in case anyone buys this as a gift. The sharks figures themselves were well detailed and great in a water sensory bin (aka the kitchen sink) as well as right out of the box. ... show more
