  • Cute, fun, and convenient!
So I would definitely not consider myself to be a professional, much less a very effective music teacher, but I think this is the perfect item to have as a teaching device for simple music instruction and to introduce younger students to music. My brother is very musical and I hope that he will let me use this to introduce my nephew to simple melodies and even very basic music theory. The sound is very clear, and I didn't even realize until I showed my brother that it has a very convenient slot underneath the keys to store the hammers. I am very excited and I hope to be able to order many other instruments like this to expand my teaching capabilities even further! ... show more

  • Its very well made but intended for kids.
Got this thinking it was more of a true adult musical instrument. Maybe I misunderstood but the description really does make it sound like an adult type musical instrument. Its a very well built toy for kids IMO, hence removal of a star. The sound is surprisingly clean for a kid’s xylophone, metal keys ring nicely, no weird buzzing. The wood frame feels sturdy, not like those cheap plastic ones. Mallets are a good size for little hands but not so small they disappear into the couch cushions. Would totally recommend for kids and some really basic sampling maybe. I am looking for a bigger one to use for music recording. ... show more

  • Very expensive toy
::Overall Impression:: 👎 This is too expensive for what is essentially a toy ::The Good:: ✅ Notes are mainly in-tune ✅ Mallet storage is a nice feature ::The Bad:: ❌ At twenty five bucks, this is far too expensive for a toy that only spans an octave and a half ::Usage Notes:: 💡Picked this up to add to my music room in the event that I wanted a glockenspiel sound on a recording. It's a little too limited to be of any real use for that purpose. ... show more

  • A beginner-friendly xylophone
This is a fun and simple xylophone is exactly what you would expect; 13 metal keys on a wood frame, with two wood mallets. The construction is almost great. I say almost, I had to adjust two of the posts holding one of the keys. It was too tight and dulled the play. I'm not dinging the product's review for that, but be aware if you've got a dull or soundless key. After playing with it for a while, I would recommend it more for a beginner or youth, but it's good for what it is. ... show more

  • cute little glockenspiel
I think this glockenspiel is adorable - and the notes are clear and very pretty. I love that there is a slot for the mallets, keeping it all contained. It's better quality than a toy or a novelty xylophone but it isn't professional quality either - it is a decent beginner xylophone that is fun to play and makes pretty sounds rather than cringe metal clangs. ... show more

  • A perfecter starter set
This little beginner xylophone sounds nice and it is made well. The wood is smooth and soft, no splintering. There is a handle spot to store the mallets and is great for little ones. The keys are labeled clearly and are easy to read.
