  • Good battery in a small form factor
I've been using this 12V 5.2Ah Lithium Battery Pack for some of my smaller DIY projects and LED strip setups, and it's a solid, compact power source that beats messing around with standard AA batteries. Reliable Power for Custom Builds The best thing about this lithium pack is its high energy density. It packs 5.2Ah of capacity into a very small footprint, which is perfect for projects where space is tight. It’s designed to provide steady 12V power, making it ideal for running things like LED light strips, small Bluetooth amplifiers, or even portable CCTV cameras. Because it uses ternary lithium technology, it’s significantly lighter than an old-fashioned lead-acid battery of the same capacity. Simple and Safe to Use Ready Out of the Box: This kit includes a dedicated 12.6V 1A charger, so you don't have to worry about finding a compatible way to top it off. You just plug it in and go. Built-in Protection: It features an integrated Battery Management System (BMS) that protects against overcharging, over-discharging, and short circuits. This gives me a lot of peace of mind when I leave it running in a custom enclosure. Long Cycle Life: This battery is rated for over 1000 charge cycles. Even after a lot of use, it should maintain most of its original capacity, which is a huge plus for gear you plan on using for years. Effortless Portability At only about 0.6 lbs, you barely notice the weight. I’ve used it to power a small portable speaker build, and it makes the whole unit feel much more professional and "commercial" compared to using a bulky battery tray. The DC power connector is a standard size, so it’s easy to find plugs and switches that fit right on. The Honest Breakdown Pros: Compact and lightweight for portable gear; includes a charger; BMS protection keeps things safe. Cons: While it’s great for smaller electronics, the max discharge current is limited (around 5A-10A depending on the model), so it might not be enough for high-torque motors or very large amplifiers. Summary: Why it's a good value This battery pack is an outstanding value because it provides a complete, safe power solution for less than the cost of buying individual cells and a separate charger. Its durability and long lifespan make it a reliable heart for any small electronics project, ensuring you have steady power without the bulk. The Bottom Line: My Final Take Whether I’m powering my latest DIY boombox or setting up LED strips in the workshop, I always look for power sources that are simple and dependable. This battery kit is a winner—it’s small, efficient, and very easy to work with. Just like the braided USB cables or the 90-degree latch on my shed, it’s a high-quality part that helps me get my projects done right. ... show more

  • Good battery/charger system
Good charger & BMS. CHARGER will drop current to near zero at full charge. Good power density.

  • Would not recommend
Showed up with 11.3 volts. Would NOT charge beyond that. As soon as charger was plugged in light lit green indicating full charge. Would NOT recommend and will not buy again.

  • Output current estimated to be 3 amps, per LED array testing Output current estimated to be 3 amps, per LED array testing
While this is a nice 12V rechargeable battery pack, there is some confusing information about the output amperage. The wording carefully says 5.2Ah several times, which is a measurement of capacity and not current strength, but one of the pictures states Output Current is 5.2A, as well as the "Features & Specs" section of the listing definitively stating Amperage is 5.2 Amps. I observed the output amperage to be more in line with 12v3a, as compared to both a 12v5a power supply I have and a 12v3a rechargeable battery pack I have. I have pictured all three of these power supplies powering the same LED array for comparison. This battery pack would be great for mocking up an outdoor/off-grid installation of such 12v electronics as LEDs, cameras, or a router before committing to something more permanent. One could even decorate the interior or exterior of a car or carriage with LEDs and power it with this. I will be keeping it with my camping kit, as running low-power, low-brightness LEDs off of it would be an excellent use of the 5200mAh capacity. The pictures are labeled to show which power supply is responsible for which level of illumination. From the power supply itself, the LED string goes vertically up the wall, turns right, then circumnavigates the garage until it reenters the frame from the left. At the end of the LED string is where you will see power loss, represented by some of the LEDs powering on while others are unable to. This is why the cyan shows green, and the orange shows red, and the white shows purple, at the end of the string. If the brightness is sufficiently turned down all of the colors become true. The string is 66 feet long. ... show more
