Received promptly (which says a lot since I live in Hawaii) and flute was in great condition. Decided to pick up the flute again after not playing for almost 35 years. I realized it would cost a bundle to restore my intermediate Artley flute but I didn't want to spend a lot in case my skills were past redemption. This flute was so inexpensive, I was willing to try it sight (and sound) unseen. Happily, the sound of this flute is very warm and the split E mechanism was a plus! The shape of the embouchure hole (more of a rounded rectangle rather than oval/round) was perfect for me. BTW - I had no problem hitting the third octave notes and my middle-lower register notes were full and warm. Unfortunately, turns out I'm allergic to the nickel in the lip plate. But it did inspire me to continue playing. Now that I knew I wouldn't embarrass myself, I went to a music store, tried out a selection of intermediate flutes, and purchased an intermediate DiZhao (solid silver, open hole, offset G, split E). The Lazarro flute is great for a "re-learner" to reacquaint oneself with the flute and build one's confidence, but once you get back into the grove, the slower key action will hinder your progress into the intermediate level. ... show more

This was more my 5th grade daughters 1st year band class. Band teacher was skeptical when I showed him this before purchasing and recommended a Yamaha for $300 to $500. I read the reviews and bought this one anyway since it did have a return policey if band teacher didn't like it. Band Teacher loved it and it works great for my daughter. The media could not be loaded. I’m an experienced flutist and bought this for my sophomore daughter.. honestly it really sounds amazing it’s been 3 my months of owning it with just 1 minor adjustment that i caught which was a screw that wasn’t put in all the way . Very easy fix if you know your instrument 😊 would NOT stop me from buying another one. Great product for a single mom of 3 musical kids on a budget! ... show more

I've played the flute for 23 years. I play a high end silver flute and play in an orchestra and jazz band. My daughter wants to learn to play the flute and violin. She is still unsure which instrument she wants to focus on so I didn't want to spend a ton of money on a flute yet. I ordered this for her and it came in today. This is surprisingly a wonderful beginner flute. The tone is beautiful and it is very responsive. The keys are smooth and it plays beautifully. It has a nice weight and feels good in hand. I want to first say I am neither a teacher nor a professional flute player but played flute in school, competition and band settings til I got married. This is my 4th flute, my first was a Yamaha semiprofessional flute that I used since I was 7. I have had other German flutes but could tell the quality was student beginner from the sound alone. Due to several overseas moves I don't have any of these anymore. I do have a natural gift of sound so hear the fine differences. I am very pleased with this flute. It has a very good sound though would not say it compares to the $7000 and up models, but for someone who is not a professional or wants a flute to use in either situations where they don't want to use their expensive flute or just to practice, this is a good option. It has both good timber and pitch. It has a nice balanced weight in my hands. It fits together very tightly, it definitely needs a wipe down especially the joints so that you can fit it together, be sure to do it straight. Also keep the plastic caps for the joints on when not in use, as this will keep your joints from getting dinged or getting minute/microscopic spurs. I read and listened to tons of reviews both on Amazon and on YouTube. I decided to take a chance on this one based on the sound in such reviews. Another factor for me was that it has a hard case, since I travel alot this was a must. My it sure does seem smaller than my hard case when I was 7. I had soft cases in between and am just not fond of them as a source of protection. I like the fact that the cleaning rod has its own place and won't slip out and scratch your flute. ... show more

    • Great Price for Great Basic, but Very Nice flute

Great all around flute that sounds good. This was a gift but the recipient loves it. Only thing is that it came with lubricant for the connecting joints and it definitely helped putting it together, but upon research everyone suggests not to use it as it can affect the sound....I have no clue... However for the price you get a great flute in a great bundle, and even the hard case is of good quality for the whole price. A lot of times companies will take short cuts on quality of included accessories to keep the price down, however this company did not. I absolutely reccomend this for novices & casual players, but if you don't know a lot about flutes you would never know it wasn't a professional quality build. ... show more
