I ordered this for a birthday party for a severely autistic individual. He is hard to buy for and doesn't use toys on his own much, he usually needs someone to guide him. He enjoys these sticks on his own and will carry one around all day, adjusting them and looking at the lights. He hasn't messed with the lights on the inside or torn the tube up so far. I do watch him with them though, for safety. The only destruction I've seen so far is that when you stretch them out/fold them up a lot, the plastic will eventually show a bit of wear. There is an on/off switch that is quite small and not really noticeable to someone who is not looking for it. You can make the stick a ring and place it on your head (fit for kids). They were a hit at the party with everyone since they are eye-catching and fun. The glow sticks are the unfolding/crinkling plastic fidget toys that are often used as reinforcement in school, with the added fun of lights inside. Each color of tube has corresponding colored lights inside, so they look great. They are lightweight plastic and will wear out eventually. Very fun purchase and I will order again!

Great theme park hack... bring these instead of having to buy the light up stuff they sell in the park, and save TONS of money! These are just as fun, durable, and are easy to pack away in a suitcase or backpack when traveling. Kids love them, they are fun to play with, and they still get the excitement of light up "toys" without the price tag!

I gifted these to a friend's child for Christmas and grabbed a pack for my son, almost 2, as well. He loves them and amuses himself with the popping noises and pulling them and twisting them. The removed star is for what is, in my opinion, a fairly minor issue. The tubes light up from a string of LED lights, which can be turned on from a little black button on one end, but they seem to turn off at the slightest tap, which my son finds rather disappointing. He's constantly bringing them back to me to turn back on and then almost immediately bumps it on something and off they go again. Also, a note for parents, the white housing that the buttons and batteries and the end of the LED string can come out (I accidentally pulled one out pulling on the wrong part of the tube) but can be put back in fairly easily, but if your kids are strong enough to pull it out themselves it might warrant some closer attention when they're playing with them.

I was hesitant to purchase these due to my son putting things in his mouth. Decided to buy cause of the fact that they light up- so glad I did!! He loves them. So easy to turn on and off. There is an option to change the pace of the lights- flashing and steady lights. My only complaint is if they flatten they don't fix easily.
