Our hanging spaces in our built in closet are fairly small cupboards. Dresses that are long would most likely drag the floor if I placed them on these space savers, but that's just because of the height of the bars in our closet. If you have heavy denim shirts or jackets, it may be too much for these. I do find that the plastic hangers work just fine with these.
