    • It never worked!
I taped it on my dash so I would know what direction I was heading. Disappointingly, it never worked! What a piece of junk, I could not believe I bought it. It never gave me an accurate compass direction, and when it's dark outside, you can't see it anyway! I thought I just didn't know how to use it, but when I compare it with any other compass, this thing was way off! I gave up, yanked it off my dash, and found at least one thing worked, the tape was good, and it left a mark on my dash! Just wonderful! ... show more

    • Get a better adhesive before use
We really like the size snd appearance. However, it has a terribly cheap adhesive with it. We are still looking for a way to make this work in our enclosed UTV. So far velcro is not the answer either. If I discover a better way I will update. Keeping this compass for now.

This is true old school and I love it! I don't have to worry about batteries or anything else. It's always ready to let me know what direction I'm going in my UTV. This is money very well spent!

    • Be careful with placement
To make sure you get an accurate reading, hold it a foot away from your dashboard and slowly move it forward to where you want to mount it. If the needle moves, there's something metal in that spot that will keep you from getting an accurate reading. I was able to find a point on my dashboard with no magnetic interference pretty easily; it wasn't my first choice but it works. You may want to consider getting a suction cup compass instead to mount at the top of your windshield, but as long as your dashboard isn't ALL magnetic interference you should be able to find a spot that works for this one. ... show more

    • Doesn't work with Hybrid/Electric vehicles
Tried to use in my Hybrid vehicle... doesn't work! Evidently the electric motor in my vehicle creates a magnetic field that confuses the compass. I was always headed north even when I turned around and went the other way.

Looks nice & easy to read, but as its sole purpose is to show directions- THIS FAILS ! It is a FULL 90 DEGREES OFF. Does not appear any way to calibrate. I do not recommend anyone buying this.

    • Pretty good
I installed this on the dash of my car, the ball seems to turn freely and it appears to be working...it just seems a bit off to me, not sure it is actually balanced correctly to indicate the correct direction but I am not sure...jury is still out on this one.
