The product is good, and it is actually a 200oz mold, not a 100oz mold. I didn’t realize this until I wanted to buy a 200oz mold and was pretty confused to see that when it arrived, it was the same size as this one. I then proceeded to do the math working backwards from 200oz of gold to correlate it with the other metals I’ve melted, and it matched up perfectly. This is a 200oz gold mold. I can’t give this 5 stars because it literally isn’t what it says it is, but I mean it’s better than it being half the advertised size. Surprised nobody else has said anything about this

It is cast iron so I expected to be hefty, just not that hefty. The heat that is retained in the mold makes it hard to release the ingot, on average I have to allow it to cool for 20-30mins before I can get the ingot out. If your doing a big melt you will want more than one of these, use in rotation.

The first pour was awful. When I removed my respirator I gagged from the fumes of the burned off paint. Use oil instead to prevent rust please. Other than that makes beautiful ingots.

The mold itself worked fine however, the surfaces are very rough and need to be cleaned up, sanded and polished (in my opinion). The mold is also painted and a tried to burn it off prior to the pour but the mold burned it off when I poured it…caught fire and smoked me out. The ingot popped out of the mild relatively easy and I’m sure will be even better once I polish it. It’s a very heavy heat resistant mold.

I really liked this mold. The handle made it easier to flip over and let the ingot release but after about 20 ingots the handle broke off. It is still usable but I'm bummed about it.
