  • Good price for short-term use
Pros: Good price for a basic peat pot. These are being used for a school marigold fundraiser, so we needed to be mindful of cost. Cons: Our order was short 10 pots. They were shipped in a plastic envelope without protective bubble wrap or other packaging so multiple pots arrived damaged. Not as sturdy as Jiffy pots - the edges break off easily, especially when damp. ... show more

  • Just don’t plant the pot
Jiffy pots are great for starting garden seeds. However, even though they say you can just plant the pot in your garden you should never do that. Start your seeds and when they are ready for the garden you need to remove them from the pots to plant. They are not biodegradable! The roots will get bound up in the pot and are not able to break through. Water your plants the day before or that same morning then peel the pot off them plant. I have in the past torn the pots into pieces and scattered them around the garden and the next year they are still there. ... show more

  • Same as the Jiffy brand name but cheaper
Don't think this is the same Jiffy brand as in Home Depot buy looks and feels the same and is wayyy cheaper. Fill with peat moss/ garden soil and use as seed starter indoors .

  • They're Decent Peat Pots, What More Do You Want?
Price was good for one of the better brands of peat pots. Packaged well, only one pot was damaged in shipping and it was salvageable.

  • They work just fine
I've used these pots to start plants for a few years now. They work fine for starting... Just plug the whole pot in at planting time

  • Perfect for starter seedlings
These peat pots are perfect for my wife's garden. They are lightweight yet strong, and super easy to use. Just scoop in some organic garden soil, add a few seeds, cover with some soil, and add water. They warm up nicely outdoors which accelerates the germination process. After several weeks, just place the peat pot in the garden - no mess, no need to break apart the peat pots. We had some heavy rain and much to my wife's surprise, the peat moss pots did not fall apart - they were all intact and looked new. ... show more

  • I fix the pots easily but honestly with paying for a product I expect ...
Pots are exactly what they claim and exactly the size they claim it. The reason for 1 less star is too many don't have the holes in the bottom. I fix the pots easily but honestly with paying for a product I expect not to have to modify it. Now, if I could I'd give 4.5 stars. Having said that, if I ever needed this size again, I'd buy them. I did find them a bit too small for my veggies that I start in the house. But think they are perfect for the herbs I started. ... show more

  • Great for starting plants
These pots were purchased 4/2/17 and used to plant seeds after the seeds germinated. They worked out very well. When the plants got larger, their roots were able to push through the pots (as they should) so I knew I could plant these directly in the soil. If you use them in a closed environment such as a container with a lid to hold in humidity, be sure to allow some fresh air to circulate often enough to prevent mildew or mold from growing. For transplanting, you can plant them directly in the ground or one could peel the pot away from the plant if you got the pot damp enough first. I plan to keep using these in the future. ... show more
