I did not think I liked it as much as I finally did. This ruffled curtain serves an additional benefit that I did not consider when I first bought this on Amazon: the thermal insulation. The good: 100% blackout, double layers, thermal insulation, single panel. We have a French door to the side patio that is exactly under 84 inches tall, and this fits perfectly. It is perfect for our movie day and weekend, when we want to block out the outside light completely for a quiet movie experience in the living room. Originally, I got this for the blackout and full privacy, but I found out that it effectively shields the heat loss from this French door quite efficiently. I really wanted to love these curtains because the idea is so charming. The ruffled skirted design definitely delivers on that farmhouse shabby chic aesthetic and they look very soft and romantic right out of the package. The white color is clean and bright and would work beautifully in a cozy bedroom or a light filled living room if you are going for that vintage cottage feel. The quality itself is okay. The fabric feels decent and not flimsy but it also does not feel especially luxurious or heavy. They do provide a fair amount of light blocking but I would not consider them true hotel style blackout curtains. They dim the room nicely but some light still filters through especially around the top and sides which may matter if you are very sensitive to light. One thing I will say is that the length is spot on. At 84 inches long they hung exactly as expected with no awkward floating or dragging which I really appreciated. The ruffle detail at the bottom is cute and adds personality but it is also the part that made me realize these just are not for me personally. On my windows they leaned more decorative than practical and felt a bit too feminine for my space. Overall these are not bad curtains at all and I can absolutely see them being perfect in the right room. For someone decorating a farmhouse inspired guest room or a shabby chic bedroom they could be lovely. For my own home and style they just did not quite hit the mark which is why I landed at a solid three out of five stars. Not terrible just not my match. ... show more

It’s rare to find curtains that look this delicate but actually block out the sun. The ruffle/skirted layers are gorgeous and add a vintage, farmhouse feel to the room.
