This gold plated aluminum chain is nice. The indentions in the chain links give it a kind of rustic look (at least to me) that's eye catching, but doesnt feel rough. The chain is shiny and lightweight. It is a 33 foot roll and comes with jump rings and lobster clasps. Great value for the amount of the product you receive.     • Large Link Chain That's Looks Great with Charms or Alone
Color: 2.4 Bronze Cuban
This is a lighter-weight chain that looks much heavier than it is. I like this as I like to decorate items with the chain and hang charms off the links so less weight is good. Pleasantly surprised. Links can be opened (or cut) for specific size or use. I purchased the Bronze Cuban which is a darker gold color that looks much more expensive than the actual cost of this roll of chain. Roll is one piece - not smaller chain pieces to equal the 16.4 feet. Posted measurements are accurate. Spool is durable enough to store chain on until use. This is about what I would expect to pay for a roll of aluminum chain - and that is what you get for this price - aluminum chain, so it is very lightweight and may not be suitable for all applications. I've been making and selling jewelry for over a decade so I can say from experience that aluminum chain can work in some jewelry but if you're not familiar with it you might be disappointed; it's so lightweight that it doesn't have the drape normally expected with similarly sized chain in other metals. However, when you're using a lot of chain in a single application, it's perfect because it doesn't add so much weight to the item that it would otherwise be uncomfortable. So it's important to consider your intended use before purchasing this. My only caveat with this particular chain is that I'm not sure that the plating is really "gold" because the chain itself appears to have a pinkish/rosy cast - so much so that if it is indeed "gold" at all, it is rose gold and not the yellow I was expecting. Personally, I love rose gold but it does make it difficult to use in any project if you don't have matching components - which, unfortunately, I don't have. Yellow gold components, connectors and other findings would look out of place with this chain so it's of limited use to me, at least for now. The chain is beautiful in any event so I'll hold on to it until I acquire some rose gold components to use with it. ... show more

I make jewelry and was a little surprised at how light this chain was, then realized it's aluminum. So you won't want to use this for fine jewelry projects, but it makes a funky extension in fashion jewelry projects or a layered chain. The bronze chain is very nice aluminum chain. The color is a bit dark but still has a shine. The links are not soldered so you can open and close them if needed. This is just as good quality as most any other aluminum chain I have tried in my decades of jewelry making.
