When I ordered this I read Galvanized Hardware Cloth… Me being a Woman (no offense to Women) I am thinking, cloth like a bolt of fabric and the soft plastic chicken wire looking fencing.. Yeah, I know silly girl it can’t be Galvanized, I didn’t catch that, I zoned in on Cloth… Well to my delight a beautifully rolled 36x50in size bolt of Galvanized 1/2x1/2inch squares at 19gage Chicken wire arrived into my living room with the U.S. Mail. A country girl, I get excited by nice country stuff, thinking protect my young fruit trees, garden and all the other possibilities of uses! Real metal!! Why do they call it cloth? I may never know, but my garden next year will not be eaten by bunnies, deer, raccoons or any other critters out here in the country!!! This is also very bendable fencing, which gives you more use options. The ease of ordering this chicken wire to your front door, in other sizes and lengths is so simple and easy, giving you time to build the chicken coop, plant those garden seeds or get other chores done. Half-inch mesh hardware cloth is considered a staple item around here, and has more uses than I could list, so I try to always keep some on hand. I acquired this hardware 50-foot roll of hardware cloth that is hot dipped galvanized for its superior rust resistance in order to make 3-foot-high protective tree cages for young trees and new landscaping. The half-inch mesh deters animals that like to chew tender new tree bark, and discourages nibbling tender young branches and leaves. The three-foot width is good for making taller cages to reduce deer rubbing damage which has killed more than one young tree. The 19-gauge wire is tough on predators, yet easy to work with and form tubular cages of the desired size. The welds look clean and straight, and the heavy hot-dipped galvanized zinc coating should last long enough for the trees to become less vulnerable. The silver colored galvanized cages also reduce the chances that the tiny young trees will be mowed or suffer trimmer damage. Recommended

I have had two major uses for this 'hardware cloth'. I've always called this sort of thing 'chicken wire', but I guess that's not politically correct anymore. We wouldn't want to offend any chickens out there, now would we? I live in an old section of Phoenix that used to have masses of citrus groves. About 20 years ago we started getting infestations of roof rats. Roof rats live in citrus trees and live off of the fruit growing on the very old trees. Some how I got a couple of rats in my house!! I found an excellent way to use this wire fencing to plug every vent and opening imaginable! It worked, no more rats since that time. Jeez, the rat that got in my house was 13 inches from nose to tail! How creepy is that?!! I used to make huge gardens in my back yard too. My soil is very fertile and vegetables grow very large and juicy! I was very proud of my first group of tomatoes that grew in my garden until the damn hungry birds started attacking them!! A whole crop of tomatoes were completely ruined by hungry birds ... needless to say, I was NOT HAPPY! Growing tomatoes you'll usually have wire plant stands to hold the heavy vines off the ground. Chicken wire will make a nice circle around tomato stands, and the birds can go hungry once again. I LOVE this wire fencing! It works extremely well and doesn't have a lot of sharp edges to get cut with!

Well constructed welded hardware cloth. It's about your standard gauge is what you would get anywhere else. None of the welds are broken on The wire which is cool. And I haven't run across any imperfections or the wire goes crooked or anything like that. I've used nearly half the role on my chicken coop door and elsewhere on the coop and I have no complaints about this hardware cloth. The galvanizing looks good on it without any defects.

This will definitely be useful with good strong 1/2-inch squares that are built to last. The color is bright and clean looking. I tool a star off because of the mix up on the advertisement page that says it has a vinyl coating in 1 section but not the others and this product don't have the vinyl coating. Good strong hardware cloth!

We have an explosion of vole population this summer. They destroyed our backyard vegetation. They eat everything from the flower beds to the lawn and our vegetable garden. I try everything including mouse traps, sticky traps, hotel traps and repellent. I trapped multiple dozens a day and yet they keep coming and coming. They just unstoppable, our backyard got eaten a chunk each day. Until I try this wire mesh, lo and behold, no more voles. I cut the mesh down to 6 inch in height, that gives me 300 feet, plenty to fence off our lawn, vegetable garden and the large flower bed. Voles,unlike mouse, can not climb so 6 inches is high enough to keep them out. I rate this 5 stars.
