I debated whether to give 4 or 5 stars for this darling little fireplace and finally went with five because it’s exactly as it looks online and exactly as described. The paint on mine is pretty decent with the exception of a blob of white on the “wood” part of the fire. There are a couple other tiny imperfections but you’re going to find them on everything unless you paint it yourself. The mantle and surround are very elegant, formal and detailed. The size of the fireplace fits 1:12 and 1:16 accessories well. See pics. This could have been a near flawless design if only they’d designed the wood and flames better. The fire is basically a brown blob topped with big piped meringue flames too large for the surround. I’m going to attempt to fashion a screen to camouflage it a bit. I’m not docking a star because you get exactly what’s shown. As others have said this is heavy resin. Easily turns on and off. It’s not an inexpensive item but I feel it’s likely priced as similar items would be. I’m glad to add it to my dollhouse minis!

I'm impressed with how solidly this piece was made. It's thick, heavy resin, like a breakable figurine, but not hollow. The lighted fire is made of durable plastic. The detailing is very nice all around, and the back side can be used as a large screen TV if you add a photo. I was so happy to see it comes with batteries. The fire is bright, but there's no flickering. This piece is made for medium size dollhouses, measuring 4.25 x 3.5 x 2 inches. My only reason for giving 4 instead of 5 stars is the paint job. I can see small dots of either black paint or chipping around the front, and some white is where only black should be. Also, around the bottom and side, the white paint is too thick and there's an area where the white is different, and the contrast is noticeable. It's not so apparent when placed in a dollhouse setting, with other furnishings. I still highly recommend this fireplace, and it would be very easy to paint it whatever color suits your needs.

I know this is for miniatures/dollhouses, but it's currently sitting on my desk. It creates such a cozy vibe and it lights up! You could use it as a nightlight if you wanted. It's definitely a great piece for a miniature display, and that's where this will end up eventually. It's worth the price for the quality and the features (lighting up).

This is a really cute little fireplace for the dollhouse. It is made from a heavy resin making it very durable. The fire in the fireplace lights up via a switch on the bottom and is pretty bright. The "flames" are colored in oranges, yellows and reds for that "flame" effect. I do wish they had used a flickering light inside for added realism but overall it's a very nice piece.

Nice “big” fireplace for a dollhouse or other miniature scenes. The fire doesn’t look very realistic but the fact that it lights up makes up for that. Very cute and the mantle has a lot of room for other tiny items.

I have been looking for a fireplace for a dollhouse that I am working on and have had a couple that I have been debating on, when this one came along. It is more pricey than the others but I will say that I love it and am so glad that I went with it. The only reason that I am giving it a four star rating is because there is some white overlapping paint on the black paint and a small imperfection of the resin in the bottom left corner. I do not believe that these same flaws will be on each product. Weighing 13.6oz, it is surprisingly heavy. I really like the detailed molding and gold paint that gives it a fancy appearance. The fire, when lit, puts off a soft glow. It requires three LR44 batteries that are included. When changing the batteries, you will need a tiny screwdriver to access the battery compartment.

This is a beautifully detailed fireplace that is perfect for a dollhouse; I especially love the molding and gold accents. It's made of a heavy resin and feels like a high quality piece. A switch on the bottom lights the "fire" with a solid (non-flickering), bright glow. The measurements match the ones given on the product page. Overall, this is a lovely statement piece that stands out in my dollhouse.
