I used this to replace the one I had for my trolling motor. Installing this is really simple, and the instructions make it easy to follow. There’s even a handy template included so you can get your holes in the right spot before cutting anything. Just make sure there’s enough space for the dust cover to open and for the back part of the plug to fit in when you insert it. Once you're ready, cut the hole, add the four nuts and eight washers, slide the plug into place, and screw it down to your mounting surface. Then just attach the back part to your plug, and you're done. Using it is just as easy—gently press the plug in and turn the knob clockwise until it stops. When you want to unplug it, just twist the knob the other way, counterclockwise, and it pops right out. Everything fits well and works smoothly, no hassle. I expect to use this for years.

I'm going to rate this based on what it is, and not on it's price, as there is nothing else on the market similar to compare it to. I don't mean there are not any other trolling motor plug/receptacle kits, I mean, there are no other milspec/areospace style kits for trolling motors out there. Battery Tender brand sells, this exact connector for close to forty dollars more for the sticker on it. I can't compare it to actual aerospace parts, because those are 3x as much per part, and on another level of materials/quality. So, what I can do, is talk about what it is made of, the completeness of the kit, installation, and operation. . Material wise, its ok. The the main bodies feel substantial, and possibly just a hard abs. The backshell however, is a bit flimsy. It would be nice if the whole thing was comprised of a high GFR plastic. The kit, gives you everything you need to install it, minus mounting hardware for the receptacle. The instructions include a template for easy accurate fit up before cutting your holes. Installation is simple enough, follow the instructions, ensure your mounting allows room for the dust cover to be open, and the backshell to clear during insertion, cut your hole, install 4 nuts 8 washers, insert your receptacle, fasten it to the mounting surface, install the back shell on your plug, and you are done. Operating the plug is super easy, and works flawelessly. Just apply slight pressure to the plug, turn the knob clockwise until it stops, and you are good to go. Removal is just as easy, just turn the knob counter clockwise, and it will disconnect. . I would like to see this priced lower to compete with other plugs, but I can't speak on that without knowing the production cost. This is possibly the highest durability plug design on the market at the moment. It's also infinitely reusable, so the plug is not throw away if you buy another trolling motor. Just take two screws out of the backshell, removed your old cables, install the new ones, and close up the backshell, and it's good to go. . If you have the money to buy this, there are only one or two other options I would consider, with this one being #1 on my list in 95% of the installations.
