GAME CHANGER! At least those are the words I've used to describe this product to my partner as we get in the car during these hot summer months. He'll raise an eyebrow at me as I flip the switch connected to the 12V plug to "High" and the fan begins to whirr to life. Instant coolness caresses the backs of my legs all the way up to my lower back and I look at my partner and shout those words with desperate glee. As much as that sounds like hyperbole...I assure it is not. Now I am keenly aware that there are two types of people in this world: those that suffer from a sweaty backside while driving....and those that don't. Unless you're in the former camp, you simply cannot understand how impactful it is to use a product that corrects those problems. You may be thinking that 5 stars is a little outrageous, especially with the few imperfections the device may have, but those of us that know the struggle would gladly suffer the electronic whirring of a fan for the relief it brings. But let me get specific here: The installation in my Ford Focus 2013 was a breeze (pun unintended but please enjoy it nonetheless), taking less than 45 seconds. It uses flexible hooks and snaps to secure itself into place. It doesn't hug the seat skintight, but it's certainly adequate enough. I haven't experienced any seat shifting, though I imagine that will eventually happen. The fabric and texture of the seat itself is like a porous polyester with a cushiony interior. It's not uncomfortable to sit on, but it's also clearly designed with the seat comfort as a secondary consideration. The real comfort of this product comes later in a much better way. It has a medium length cable to plug into the 12V port that comes standard in almost all cars. Along the cable is a switch to set to Low, High, or Off. When it's on, a fan that hangs over the edge of your seat between your legs will kick into gear, sucking in air and compressing it to create cooling airflow through the bottom and backsides of the seat cover. There are two important things to infer from the way this works: 1. Because the fan compresses and blows air, it doesn't pump out cold air the same way your car A/C does. The airflow will always be cooler than the interior of your car, but think of it like taking 15-20 degrees off that temperature. On hot summer days, you'll probably be blasting your A/C as well. So as the air in your car cools, the fan will feel cooler too. You can speed up the process by using your A/C blowers that blow by your feet, if you really wanted to. 2. Because of how the airflow is concentrated, it can have a powerful evaporative cooling effect on those areas of your body it touches. This means that if you're suffering from a sweaty bum and backside, the seat cover will work even better than if you're drier back there. The fan does have a distinct electronic whirring sound. It's not exactly a "loud" sound, it's just loud for how small the fan is. When my car's A/C is blowing at medium or high, the fan is imperceptible. I can talk at a normal volume to anyone in the car. If this sound is the biggest burden to suffer for a cool bottom, then it is well worth it. Once on, you'll feel it immediately (even in hot cars). I get in my car after vigorous exercise and enjoy the bliss that comes with driving with this on. In no more than ten minutes, I am cool and dry back there. Even when I haven't just finished exercising, driving on hot summer days will deliver me to my destination with distinct wet spots on my lower back that I begrudgingly try to hide from the world. This product has eliminated that problem for me entirely. Since getting this product I have turned it in excitedly every time I've gotten into my car. It is refreshing, it is cool, it is easy to use, and most importantly....it is a GAME CHANGER! :)

Just received product today and tried both out. For both of them, most fans don’t work, (one cushion had 2-3 fans working out of the 16 fans shown per the description/pictures but no airflow to feel, the other had 4 fans working and had very weak airflow in those spots) Defective and completely dissatisfied Overall, the airflow is extremely weak and the cooling factor is barely noticeable. I had to lift my shirt just to feel anything, so it won’t even go through a shirt sadly. It’s Missing the AC adapter per description/pictures of product. The remote is different from the pictures for awareness I tried to list this product as defective and organize getting replacements but it looks like my online options are only to send it back for a full refund and rebuy separately which is fine. I’ll rebuy them one more time to be sure I don’t have defective products, I still have high hopes for this considering the ratings are high and others do enjoy it. I will update when the next 2 come in

It only blows whatever temperature air it is in the car, so if the car has been sitting in the sun all day, then warm/hot air is all it will blow on you. It works best when the a/c is on because it will suck in the cool a/c air and direct it through the seat cushion. But it does even this poorly. Air is pulled in through a fan that hangs down between your legs. At Low setting, it is ineffective. Air can only be felt on the High setting, and even this doesn't work well, because air is directed through perforated tubes within the cushion itself. The weight of my thighs and butt on these tubes while sitting on the cushion pinches off air movement to the rest of the cushion, so air hardly reaches my back or sides. It only cools the underside of my thighs and butt, and the small of my back, and that's it. The fan at high setting is not loud or distracting. You have to be careful when you sit on the cushion because your calves might block airflow into the fan. So, great idea, but poorly designed.

Set up was fairly easy and the cushion lined up and fastened pretty well with the seats in my 2017 Mazda 3. However, the car only has one cigarette lighter receptacle, and where it's located in the centre console bin doesn't have enough room to add a splitter. When you turn it on, you don't really feel much air blowing, but there is a very noticeable cooling effect. It helps if you can direct an a/c vent towards where the fan intake is to help it circulate cooler air in the cushion. Downsides: The fan is pretty loud. Not much difference in feel between the low and high settings, although there is a noteable difference in noise. It's a hindrance if you only have one 12v receptacle. All in all, I'm still happy with the purchase. At ~$35 for one (I got the 2-pack on a lightning deal), I think it's worth the extra cooling it provides.
