  • Off kilter
Style: 8-inch x 25-inch
The boot straps don’t keep my foot in line with the snow shoe. So as I tread, my heels make their way to the outside edge. Very annoying. Tried cinching up while on the trail but to no avail. Unfortunately spent a lot of my time trekking with my head down trying to figure out how to fix the issue. Thumbs down. Will look at Yukon Charlie’s next time. Got those for the hub and he is happy. ... show more

  • Great beginner shoes
Style: 9-inch x 30-inch
Light weight and sturdy, but your foot seems to turn in the set up, not sure if my feet are to small? Anyhow still a great product no issued at all, I'm a beginner at snow shoes.

  • Good
Style: 8-inch x 25-inch
The Yukon Charlie's National Park Snowshoe Kit is a great way to explore the great outdoors in the winter. The snowshoes are durable and provide good traction, while the trekking poles are helpful for stability when walking on uneven terrain. The travel bag is also great for storing the snowshoes and poles when not in use. Overall, this is a great product for anyone interested in spending time in the snow. ... show more

  • Good Starter Package But Not Built For Longevity
Style: 9-inch x 30-inch
I have wanted a pair of snow shoes for a number of years now but never got around to getting them. So when I had the opportunity to check these out, I jumped on it. I will be the first to admit I'm not a snowshoe aficionado, as this is my first pair, so I can only go on my personal experience with them and my knowledge of materials and construction and what to look for in a well-made product. This seems like a useful starter package for someone like myself. The aluminum frames are sturdy and well balanced. I know nothing of the strength and longevity of the material they use that it stretched in the frame...this is something I need to research if I really decide to get into snowshoeing seriously. The top bindings are a good, heavy duty nylon strapping. One of my biggest concerns for the longevity of these snowshoes is the binding that goes around the heel. It's a really lightweight vinyl type material that I'm not sure I would trust to last more than a season or so. At this price point I would have expected better. See photos. I particularly like the way they set up the straps to put the snowshoes on. Both the top straps and the release have a loop that you can pull easily with gloves or mittens on to tighten or loosen the straps. I think the way it is done is pretty genius actually though once we get snow and I have to get them on and off in real life, that could change! The poles are decent and solid and marked in inches and centimeters so that once you know the right setting for you, you can quickly lock them in without having to adjust them. I appreciate the bag that they come in which will make storage easy and tidy. All in all, I definitely am looking forward to playing with these this winter and seeing if snowshoeing is something I want to pursue more. Having researched a few other options though I would say that if you are a serious snowshoer, I'd look elsewhere for a pair with stronger bindings. For *me*, these will do for my "learning curve". I'll update once I've put these to work this winter! Happy Shopping! ... show more

  • Great snowshoe and pole set.
Style: 9-inch x 30-inch
This set comes with everything you need except the snow! This isn't some cheap starter snowshoe set. This is the real deal and a great bargain for what you get. The snowshoes and poles are very well-made and lightweight. I've used heavier snowshoes in the past that hurt my knees after a little use. That is not the case with this set. I'd recommend this set. ... show more

  • Really Good Recreational Snowshoes - Easy On/Off, Easy Adjustment
Style: 8-inch x 25-inch
These are very good snowshoes. My husband I & each have a pair of Yukon Charlie’s that we’ve used for 2 winters. We snowshoe at least 15 days per month in the winter & they are still in excellent condition. Since we now have these new shoes, we will keep the old ones for guests. -They are very easy to put on/take off - even easier than our previous snowshoes & those are great too. -Easy to adjust to the wearer’s boot. -Have a pivot binding which means the bindings pivot under the ball of the foot. This lets the tail fall back/down as you move so that you fling less snow on your legs/snowshoes. It also is less tiring for your legs. -Have a heel lift for climbing hills. It prevents calf/Achilles heel strain. It is very easy to use by just pulling the strap at the back of the boot. It locks in place very well. -Sturdy steel crampons on the bottom for really good traction. -Aluminum frame is sturdy & light. -Poles come with snow baskets & trekking baskets so you can use these in the summer too. -When choosing snowshoe size, consider your weight, combined with your pack weight. You don’t really need to go very oversized to carry your weight – getting within the correct weight rating for the snowshoe is more important. Take in to consideration the type of snow you will typically be in. Light fluffy/powder snow takes slightly bigger snowshoes to float. If you typically use trails, get the smallest snowshoe for your weight. ... show more
