  • Rude customer service
Just received my order and the box was almost destroyed, don’t know if that’s amazon or Yukon Charlies fault but not a great start. The snowshoes looked to be of dubious quality, I have a pair from them that’s 13yrs old and it certainly looks like they were made better back then. Had a question about the heel strap it looks like cheap vinyl doubt if they hold up, also the integrated heel lift had no information on how to use it. I called them and they’re customer service was terrible. The woman who answered the phone was rude and disconnected me 3 times. It’s almost as if they don’t want to help the customer. I already sent them back and I just got them an hour ago. I’ll look elsewhere for snowshoes ... show more

  • Yukon Charlie's Pro 930 Snowshoes
Designed for use when hiking in relatively rough terrain, these snowshoes are lightweight with the pair weighing under 5 pounds. The crampons are made from forged steel and the frame is aluminum so they are lightweight (read product page for all the specifics regarding materials used in construction.) Real-life user friendly features include the built-in heel lift to prevent fatigue on steep inclines and the Fast-Fit II bindings and Swift heel strap make it easy to obtain a custom secure fit and it is quick to put on and remove the snowshoes. After fitting the bindings and heel strap over the boot, small attached clips manage the any hanging or excess in length in the bindings and straps. The operation of all adjustments is intuitive. These Pro 930 snowshoes measure 9 by 30 inches and are suitable for a human weighing 201 to 250 pounds. Since it hasn’t snowed yet the review is focused on the operation of the bindings, quality of the components and basic design. Excellent. ... show more

  • It will help to understand them before you need to use them
The media could not be loaded. I have never used snowshoes but have always wanted to. I wanted to try these out to see if I could intuitively put them one without directions because I didn't get any. the materials that are going to be wrapping around your boot are a mix of silicone, nylon, and vinyl. as I squeezed my shoe onto the boot I could pretty easily determine which strap helped to tighten etc. Until we get to the heel. Seems that there is a vinyl strap that doesn't like the cold (unlike nylon) in that it was harder to manipulate around the back of the shoe. Then there was the issue of what to do with that metal piece sits under your heel. A short instruction video or sheet of directions would at least give the appearance that this company encouraged newbies to use their product. I will do my own research and make sure I know when and how to properly use them. ... show more

  • Easy to put on, Easy to use
I've only used one previous pair of show shoes and they were kind of a pain to put on. These with the rubber cinch straps were nice and easy. Once on they were really easy to walk in. I did sink in a bit on the snow, but it was pretty minimal, and going back through with just boots on, I was going way down and it was a lot harder to walk. ... show more

  • Very easy to put in, lightweight
Got to FINALLY try them out for the first time today after we were done digging out from the first real snow storm. I love the light weight and ease of putting these snowshoes on. They make for much less strenuous walking with my feet not spread apart as much as with my previous pair.

  • Great quality and value
These are really appealing, visually, for starters. They are well made and balanced properly for ease in walking on difficult terrain. Very happy with the quality of construction and the ease of use.
