Soft... serves its purpose... but I wouldn't recommend (men) if you dont like briefs. These are very short and I wear them around the house as shorts. Yes, I took them from my husband. LOL they are comfortable but they do ride up the thigh. I gave a 4 because we both can wear them. LOL

for a normal/trim/athetic fit guy, the cut is too high on the waist band by at least 1-2 inches. though the fabric is actually really comfortable, the waistband rides high; thus, the fit is not flattering.
