If you want that fitted look then keep your size or size up one size and get it tailored. It is kind of short but that can be because I’m 5’9.5” so it can be just right for anyone shorter than me. This is a great holiday staple. Personally I think velvet never goes out of style when worn for the holidays. It happens to be on trend this year. I believe it is generously sized. I typically wear an XL in dresses. Size 10-12. I am 5”6 about 190. Very curvy but Proportionate. I purchased both large and XL……for a more bodycon fit and firmer fit, I would go with the Large because of the ruching. It helps camouflage the belly as well. This has a lot of stretch so size down 1 size if you want to look like the model with a tighter fit. I will say this. I did find some irregularities. I ordered this dress in a Couple of sizes and colors. None of them fit the same. The first one came with shoulder pads. The rest of them did not. Some of them had a seam sewn in the middle of the waist (right where the ruching is). It looked very odd. The chest area is off a little. If you have bigger boobs it may not line up properly. All that being said…….I would recommend this dress because it is a solid buy, but like most of “made in china” clothes…..please inspect them.

This dress is very pretty. I am 5'7 and 205 lot of hips and booty٫ D cup....I usually buy XL٫ but sized down to a Large (L) and it fit perfectly. A couple things about the dress.... it has a zipper in the back that is 100% unnecessary because you can literally slip it over your head or step into it no problem because of how stretchy the material is. So the zipper was dumb. The sleeves are loose around the wrist which I didn't like because I wanted the sleeves snug like the picture. The v neck doesn't plunge that deep as in the picture. The dress is very short. Every time I sat down you can see right up it and see my panties so keep that in mind. But it is very pretty and soft. I had alot of compliments
