I have never owned a pair of snowshoes before but I cant imagine they are supposed to fall off your feet... I wear a women's size 8.5 boot and bought the size accordingly but in order to have the heel strap set for my boot size, it is on one of the first few holes and the peg from the metal clip is too short and barely goes through the hole in the strap, so with it being a tighter hole and the PLASTIC heel strap kind of bows out a bit so that the tiny peg doesn't really hold it if that makes sense. Would probably be OK for the larger boot range... So essentially I barely walked anywhere and the strap came off and my heel popped out. Afraid to take these on a lengthy walk as they dont seem too durable in general, but I suppose would be OK for use close to home.

I used this snowshoe set this past winter to collect sap from my sugar bush. I still sunk in more than I would like but not necessarily more than I expected. The straps seemed durable and pliable in the cold. The paint on the cleats wore off the first day of use and the bare metal would get rusty but maybe that's unavoidable. The poles can be used as trekking poles after the snow but I haven't used them like that yet. I've had another pair of cheap snowshoes (Yukon Charlie) where the decking got very brittle and basically disintegrated. These have not had that problem yet - though if they do I will update this review. Right now they are in their handy storage bag waiting for winter to get here.

These are very lightweight snowshoes. The frames seem sturdy. Getting poles with them was an added bonus as I can use them for hiking in the summer as well. I docked one star because the fabric between the frames seems a little thin and I'm concerned that it won't hold up longer term. That said, these are relatively inexpensive compared to other brands so they are a good value.
