Am 5'5", 271 lbs., and I ordered 5X. Have a heavy midsection. Dress hits the top of my feet, neck isn't too low, sleeves come to just above the elbow and give ample arm room, and the colors I ordered are like the photos shown. Ordered the green dress with white flowers, and the turquoise dress with multi colored flowers. I would have loved it if the tiers were much fuller, I like full sweeping skirts. It looks good, cannot see through the material, it is light and comfortable. Roomy through the bust, around the mid section, and full hips.

My husband saw me try this on. He said it made me look VERY LARGE. It is a well made dress plus the matching slip is a plus, but there is no shape to the dress; however, it is very comfortable. It fit me like an Hawaiian Muumuu. I could wear it around the house and it would be very cool in the summer heat, but I am returning it and finding a dress that has some shape to it. I really like the dress. I just don't like it on me.

The dress is ok and will be nice for an informal summer event. I had hoped to wear to an outdoor summer wedding, but really doesn't meet that higher level of dress needed. The dress has lots of fabric and a very loose fit below the bodice but if you are busty, I suggest ordering one size up. I'm not at all well endowed (well, above the waist) and this is snug across the shoulders and bust. It is not stretchy. The fabric is not transparent, but only just so.
