What I can say is that I got this to use to learn/teach photographic lighting. This model doesn't talk back and she stays in place really well. A simple clip to hold her hair back when needed, or I suppose someone could addd a style. I know nothing about doing that. The texture and "skin" is not terribly reflective, but enough to actually work with and optimize lighting. I'd recommend if you have similar needs. ... show more

I have several of these practice hair heads and if you're trying to do anything besides braids then human hair is the way to go. Sometimes I want to try a new curl style or something new w/o the damage to my own hair and I go to this. The hair curls/straightens and holds up very nicely w/hot styling products. The clamp on this is on the cheaper side. It is also sharp on the edges so that part I don't like but once you get it set then you're good.
