This is such a cute way to add a little "jazz" to any swimsuit. It'd probably be best not to actually swim in it, since it's definitely not real gold - it would tarnish easily if frequently exposed to elements. But the back clasp is surprisingly secure. I have to say that I'm finding all of these 14 karat gold plated, body chains and belly chains that you can find all over Amazon, with horrible pictures and tiny icons to be universally high-quality items. Rather surprisingly. The gold plating has a shine and a sheen that brass alloys of previous costume jewelry never had, and this combination of an alloy chain with 14 karat plating is the ideal combination for an item that is inexpensive and lastingly beautiful. I don't know what the other purchaser is complaining about, it did come tangled, but the process of untangling it took about 15 seconds, and all of the kinks and twists in the chain were easy to straighten out simply by running my fingers along the chain several times while letting the chain hang. It's cheap quality. It's a cheap price. There is no glitz to it and its super basic. Despite that, on a budget it will accessorize your outfit/swimsuit if it's bland. For some, it may be confusing as to which way to wear it but through trial and error I am confident it can be figured out. It doesn't come with a diagram or anything. TLDR: I WOULD purchase this product with my own money This necklace is a very great value for money. I might go so far as to say that it’s nearly indistinguishable from fine jewelry quality. It appears exactly the same as it does in the promo photos. I carefully checked the little o rings, chain, and fishbone/arrow pieces and they are uniform and smooth and well connected with just the right amount of heft. It isn’t flimsy or clunky, which is usually the case with jewelry at this price point. I will say, it is a little confusing to put on, tangles easily and will sit a little lopsided depending on where you have to clasp the latch in the back. Once you get the hang of it though, it is a fun piece of jewelry and adds a little extra something to even the most simple outfits!

    • Arrived a tangled mess. Didn't fit as pictured.

This chain looked so cute in the product description photos, but once it arrived, I found that it looked and felt cheap. The center herringbone-like portion was tangled and bent. It took me quite a while to get everything untangled. I'm 5'10", size 12/14 jeans, and have a fairly flat abdomen and lower tummy. This chain barely reached around my torso and had I had someone clasp the ends, it would have pulled snugly and not have draped as shown in the product listing photos. If you're more petite, this may be something that will work for you, but I cannot recommend this based on my experience with the product. ... show more
