  • Anyone trying to use this in a band in a typical music venue will not be happy.
UPDATE... So on the recommendation of a friend, I ended up getting a replacement instead of a refund. Apparently I got a bad one the first time around. My replacement has been working flawlessly for several gigs and rehearsals now. Two more of my band members have gotten this unit on my recommendation and they are both extremely happy with them. Sooooo convenient!! Eliminates the need for a rack to hold the receivers. They perform flawlessly night after night... no drop-outs, sound quality is great and plenty loud. The bad reviews on here are because either they, like me, got a bad one, or they have something in the line not set up right. Some reviewers mention weak signal... there is a switch on the transmitter for "line" or "aux"... this makes a difference in the overall signal strength. Make sure you set it right for your purpose. Get this, make sure all your settings are good, and you will be happy. If you know all your settings are proper, and its not performing well, then you probably got a bad one like I did initially. Again, my replacement has been AWESOME and so have the other two that my fellow band mates purchased. I can't recommend it enough!! You'll never want to go back to a floor monitor! ORIGINAL POST -- I honestly don't know how this product has gotten so many good reviews. I think maybe a lot of them are using them in a more friendly environment... or maybe the factory's quality control is not good and they are making some good ones and some bad ones, and maybe I got a bad one. Very disappointed and returning after initial testing. Description claims range to be 90 feet. Mine cuts out at around 25 feet or so, and that is at my home studio under very controlled conditions. The sound quality is pretty poor also. I wouldn't expect it to be perfect, but I have a rackmounted Xtuga unit that has over 150 feet of range and the sound quality is better and it is actually a 2-transmitter/receiver unit and cost less than this Xvive. I wanted to give this a shot because of its transmitter being so small, battery powered and convenient because it plugs straight into the mixer, eliminating cords and rack etc. The idea is great, but it just doesn't perform as advertised. Maybe I just got a bad one... I don't know. But I did read several reviews from Guitar Center website (after I bought it and tried it... my own stupidity) that stated the same problems, so I'm not gonna waste my time with a replacement. If you play in a gigging band in your typical bars and clubs where there's tons of Wi-Fi and other interference sources in and around the place, don't waste your time and money on this. You won't be happy. ... show more

  • Well built, good range, little to no latency
This is a strong, well built, piece of musical electronic gear. I have had zero issues with range away from the transmissor. Anyone looking for a wireless connection for a decent price, buy this.

  • Probably the most decent an expensive and not weirdly laid out set.
Wanted to have a IME unit in case somebody from a band I work with would want to use one. Then got asked by a band member to set them up a set. looking at all the options out there for an individual who plays with different bands, I think this is a great combination small transmitter and receiver something that can be thrown in a bag. Disadvantage switch on receiver easily turns itself on definitely recommend the hard case otherwise when you pull it out the battery be dead. However you can charge them up in use sort of. You can charge the transmitter well in use as long as it's not blocked by anything else. A battery pack on the receiver is very handy especially with a right angle micro cable for the times when the switch gets turned on in your bag. I wish they were USB-C. My only gripe is that the output volume is surprisingly low I had to boost the channel past unity to get a reasonable Audio level out versus the behringer P2 plugged into a XLR wireless transmitter receiver set which well weird just worked. As far as IME headsets go I can't necessarily vouch for the package deal that usually comes with this, especially at the price difference. I also didn't see any reviews that made it "well this is a good deal" for the IME headset. I set this bandmember up with a KZpro set and they were extremely happy. I think this is a good way to go and is inexpensive to get yourself a headset, get yourself a wireless unit to see how you like it. And I think it works out to a nice gigging set it'll work with different systems you can use it with. And you can walk up and be like here's my guitar feed here's my TX unit. Then you just gotta find a sound guy who knows how to mix monitors and IMEs ( it's simple turn everything down and know your signal flow then slowly bring things up only as needed, set a gain stage master fader at unity only touch that as last resort something too loud turn it down on the individual feder first. it is a master volume level, you're working and stone for live sound take away what you don't need. ) it is only mono but for the most part I don't think monitors need to be in stereo unless you're doing a lot of stereo effects in your music, besides monitors are primarily for time and pitch, sure you can have some other stuff in there but remember their purpose foremost and don't just crank everything. ... show more

  • Make sure you are not on the same channel as someone else in the band.
I love this system for rehearsals. Just stay on your personal channel or you will get static.

  • Works Great at a great price.
Works great. Having hear loss is a problem for me. I've needed some in ear monitors to help me continue playing with my band, while being protective of what hearing I have left. At the same time I have a limited budget. This IEM works very well for me and the cost was very affordable.

  • It works great for me
I'm an acoustic guitarist who plays into a Bose L1 Model 2 PA. I plugged the transmitter into the "AUX Out" and set the small switch to "AUX". It works perfectly!
